Re: bbi figs

Cannot comment yet on the FoV, ...... Haven't got these yet, Digger? Oh man, just wait. The two BBi figs I got was Omar and the 10th mountain. The 10th Mtn. figure's helmet is just aweful - looks like he's trying to wear a little kiddie helmet. Compare that to the FOV helmets which look great. Just...

Was slightly bummed last week when all you guys were ordering $.70 figures while I was getting a camera shoved down my throat. But, was lucky enough to score two figs today, including the one I really wanted for $.70 at a B&M TRU. Great figures, but I have to say FOV has better modern helmets. Almos...

Not liking the thought of a winter contest - think about us poor saps who have to suffer through 70 degree temps in January :D . Considering we got snow last year, I don't expect more for another 7 years - too long to wait to enter.

This is called "forgetting about the contest until Sunday afternoon, not to mention being swamped the last few months" But, I said I would enter something, so I put together a quick scene with a small ruin I had built after the contest started. So, simple dio of a Chechnyan anti-armor squad. ...

Re: bbi ( ? )

I really doubt that bbi plans on discontinuing the 1/18 line altogether. v MG :p51: Merely repeating old gossip. Seriously, I thought the guys was full of sh#$ with BBi only being temporary. Went looking for the old post, but they changed forums since them. A few people from here post over there. M...

I recall getting in a discussion on Joecustoms with some guy back when BBI first hit Target. He was claiming to be in with certain "insiders" at one of the toy magazines. His claims at the time were: 1) BBI will only be at Target through the end of the year 2) BBI will be out of 1/18 by next year. S...

Went to two targets todays, and both had figures, Bradleys, and Abrams. Waiting on the armor, but picked up a few figures. Really impressive for a first series by FOV. Actually, even more impressive than the accessories are the helmets. So far, I think they are the best ones out there. For as "dry" ...

Okay, I want to see if I've lost count. We have these four Vietnam figures. We've seen 4 Platoon figures. I thought there were two other unpainted Vietnam figures. Is that right? If not, it seems there could be cases of 2X each Platoon guy, and 2X each generic Vietnam guy. Not bad, but hoping someho...

Man, #2 and #7 are right up my alley.

I'm finding more and more, seeing these unproduced concepts from toy makers is absolutely depressing. Some cool pieces that never see the light of day.

As much as I LOVE the Mig-21, hearing its delayed is actually good news. Gives me time to get my collection in order to give a few of these some new homes. If 21C needs any suggestions for painted schemes, I'd be glad to suggest a few  (since most Africa -21s merely added their insignias over ...

IMO, 21C is the one who started this whole 1:18 military game. Meaning, they're the first ones (that I can recall, at least) who touted their figures and vehicles were to 1:18 scale. And because of that, I see them as being THE name associated with 1:18. Kinda like if one things of O-scale trains, t...

The point I think that others were trying to make was that 21st isn't building new 1:18?... Again, I have to strongly disagree. Lets just recap off the top of my head the new 1:18 products by 21st in 2007. 1. Pak-40 Hanomag variant 2. Quad Gun trailer 3. Me-262 4. Me-262 nightfighter (due late 07) ...

Needed to be more specific in my B&M. The para figs are doing much for me. The new non-paras - that's good stuff. Fortunately, there's empty space on the pegs with the regular carded figs around here, so hoping these show up soon.

Difficult to get excited for these guys when the Targets around have their pegs still full with the original paras from BBI. Don't see why the stores keep asking for para figs.

Keep in mind, several of the branchlines in North Africa were narrow gauge. Sure, you can't haul tanks and such, but you can haul supplies to the front. And, the Army ran the WP&Y during the war years, and that line was 36-inch gauge. There is plenty of 1:20.3 WP&Y equipment to run on G-scale track.

Actually, I'm kinda taking a mini-vacation from 1/18. Aside from the BBi Blackhawk and DAK figures, there hasn't really been anything that exciting to me on the military front. As for SW and GI Joe, there's been a few items I've picked up, but most hasn't got me too excited (but check with me after ...

Its a shame. I was up at his store in Tempe yesterday and picked up the weapon set for some of my larger figures. Very nice stuff. Although they've been done by BBi, one I'd do is a set of AMRAAMs to either equip a fighter or to make a SL AMRAAM Humvee. Even better, how about some UAVs?
