Re: 1/18 Tiger II And Jagdtiger Building Instructions

Looking at this, I wonder if the way the acid rain line did it's plastic tracks might be a decent shortcut for the pickelhaube method (patent pending).

Then again, styrene might be too brittle, and it might not be any cheaper or easier on pickel to make.

I prefer my crazy artists to be like pickel- a little cantankerous but so obviously gifted and doing what they love in such a way that benefits everyone in the hobby.

Re: 1/18 FW-190A?

Thank you for sharing the pics and reigniting hope in Merit, John. It was appreciated. Sadly there are people in this world who can't find joy in simple things, or are so miserable that they feel a need to suck the joy out of others in the name of being right. It happens in every hobby. The negative...

I wish the scheme were different, but that is not going to stop me from snagging one of these.

Now if only they would announce the next harrier scheme with gun pods.

Re: 1/18 FW-190A?

To be fair to Aviatornut, he probably was provided with these photos by a contact at Merit. This tooling is nicer than a kit bashed Franken-Focke. Although blurry, you can see some nice recessed rivet detail on the shot of the belly. If you look at the comments on the photos posted to Facebook you ...

I've always liked the lines on the P-61.

A nightfighter mosquito could be amazing.

I always thought the He 219 looked neat...

Hmmm.

Wasn't a radar dish a planned upgrade for the ME-262?

This could be very interesting.

It's certainly a long shot, but I figured I'd put feelers out. I'm patient, anyway. :D

On one hand, I'm relieved that they didn't do a new load out on the limited re-release. On the other hand, gunpods still would have been nice.

The Robust Hall of Fame

After reading the other thread on the Avenger dive and thinking back on some of my own misadventures with broken gear doors and the like, I thought it might be worthwhile to walk down memory lane of the most solid models in our collections. I've got to dash, but I 'll start with the BBI Bf 109 (2nd ...

Not that BBi has put anything out recently, but I do seem to remember the back of boxes indicating that the things they made were produced under license.

Of course, things were (mostly) cheaper then.

I've picked up a plane or two from AV-8B Driver.

Very smooth, and the guy is personable. Using etsy is about as easy as ebay.

Cheers!

Rise from your grave! Some pics up of a high-vis Japanese exclusive. http://merit-intl.com/meritnew/index.php?dest=products&sku=JSI-60032 I'll admit, I'm marginally curious about it, the intended market, and if the load out will be any different. edit: Went digging, found a listing on hlj. https://w...

I think the pod on the other side holds ammo, but I could be wrong.

So one is the gun pod, the other is the ammo pod.

I'm curious what other re-releases might be in the pipe...

Or armament packs for the harier >.>
