Re: First attempt at posting project pics

Hi, welcome.
Looks fantastic. Beautiful job on the cockpit area and details. Looking at it and being detail oriented myself I can appreciate all the work you have put into it, transforming it from toy to model.

I thought that might have been a cemetary in the background. At least it's probably nice and quiet.

Re: Everybody in the pool!! collection pic time

you guys' collections are incredible. I love seing them displayed like that.

Mikeg, do you have anyone patrolling the woods back there? You never know when some back woods XD thieves might try to do a little poaching.
....Looks like they might have already pushed down the chain link.

Re: MY Pakwagen

Thanks, yeah I just sanded the edges of the treads to make a more convincing tire shape. I haven't painted mine yet but 1958Zelda's look great.

Re: MY Pakwagen

Great looking camouflage, is that 1/18? It looks like you made parts as well? Antenna, late engine hatch, travel lock and other bits? One thing I did was to sand down the treads on the tires which looked to "square" I wanted to give them more of a rounded worn look. What did you do with yours?, they...

Re: MY Pakwagen

How about this one...... http://www.missing-lynx.com/gallery/dio ... nping5.jpg I like that one. I've seen a few different variations with "432" that one looks nice and beaten up. blitzhazed- The only parts I didn't actually make myself were the 2 photo etch clamps and the Bosch headlight. The clam...

Yeah those are nice I think the first pic was inspired by this one http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk190/smittyrob/orig.jpg Don't care for the camouflage in the 3rd pic, never liked that "ambush" scheme. a few more http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk190/smittyrob/sdkfz25122_shenkane4.jpg http:/...

Re: MY Pakwagen

Thanks for the comments guys. I've learned quite a lot about these, trying to make accurate parts you learn a thing or too. They actually started production in dec 1944 and likely there were less than 100 made. Surprisingly there are quite a lot of photo's of these. There is one in existance left I ...

MY Pakwagen

Here are some pictures of my custom sd.kfz 251/22 pakwagen. Not finished as you can see, I have only given it the base coat, a little shading with the airbrush and some filters and washes to the interior. http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk190/smittyrob/DSC05748-1.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/a...

Re: What can be made of the 21stC standard Hanomag/Halftrack

Smittydob, You were off to a great start on that 251 / 9 Stummel !! I wouldn't worry about jsi, I hope you finish yours. Thats another variant of the 251 I'd like to try. Thanks, I've learned a lot in terms of scratchbuilding since then so I may take another crack at it sometime, right now too many...

I have been planning an sdkfz 251/17. With a bit of modification to the inside and the pedastal and gun you could build one.

Re: 1/16 tanks

My original point was that Taigen was just a name given to a HL and a bunch of asiatam parts on it, and you are right there is one product with a Taigen stamp on it for sale at Asiatam's website.
...but you might be right, who knows. :D

There are two pics shown there. If you click on the german language site and look at the grills there are 2 pictures. One with Taigen logo.

Well the other parts don't come on frets with anywhere for a Taigen stamp.
...or asiatams
Yes, Asiatam went to some trouble to disguise that
they did?

Oh I meant asiatam not Mato. I don't think "Taigen" makes metal parts either.
Just a name given to HL tanks with asiatam metal parts on them.
