1st issue 1/18 P-38 for sale

Well, I'm moving and need to make space, so I thought I'd give you guys first crack at the 1st issue P-38. Everything is included (bombs, bazooka tubes, Christmas tree rockets, fuel tanks, pilot, and pilot gear), and the plane was never played with (rockets are still in original bag). Heck, it was b...

Re: rare utlimate soldier 32x planes on ebay

Just makes me wonder why the molds are just sitting around gathering dust instead of being used for new product. I'd jump on the P-51D one with new schemes since I never liked the Miss Bonnie scheme. Haven't heard any rumours for the smaller scale in quite awhile...

I always wished they offered that scheme as a pre-built version. WITH the yellow cowl, of course :)

Good Job!

Re: I'm moving away from 1:18th…what scale to replace it????

Ruger, I have to disagree about 1/32 being as dead as you say it is. At least airplane wise. While it's true that the cheap 21C days of nicely prepainted and assembled models are over, there seems to be a lot of stuff coming up in the modeling world to fill that gap. 1/32 bombers are starting to be ...

Re: Zero landing gear

I guess the best way to describe it is that the top of the gear that sits inside the wing does not "click" into place like the other one does. it almost looks like maybe the gear door is glued too high and is interfering with it "locking" into place, but somehow I don't think shaving off the top of ...

Zero landing gear

Is there an inherent design flaw in the Zero's landing gear? My starboard gear does not lock into place (unlike the port side, which works fine), and therefore collapses. I tried taking apart the wing to see if it wasn't fit properly into the channel designed to hold the top part of the gear, but I ...

Re: What to do with this Spitfire?

Nope, it's 21C. And those Corgis have nice lines, but for some reason to me the green and brown paint on them looks too light and makes them look too funny.

Yeah, you're right, for the price I paid, I shouldn't be complaining. But any pointers for fixing that darn canopy so that it stays in place?

What to do with this Spitfire?

I was extremely pleased when 21C finally released a 1/32 Spitfire, but since it came at the tail end of their existence, the quality control was horrendous. I made do with one with a relatively decent paint job with minimal scratches and glue spots. When I finally put the whole thing together, I was...

Re: HM Dauntless plunge

Thanks for the responses. I have the BBI one, but didn't care for the paint scheme and I love those old rudder stripes and meatballs on the stars. I also really wanted working dive brakes. I may swap out the pilots since the HM ones seem pretty poor quality compared to the BBI ones. How's the build ...

HM Dauntless plunge

So, I think I'm going to splurge on the Coral Sea Dauntless. I just was wondering which retailer has the best prices on these things (including shipping)? Does the rear gun swivel left to right? And does the rear gun store in the body of the plane like the real thing (with the folding panels behind ...

Snortin' Bull pics?

Does anyone have any decent pics of the 1/32 version of the P-47 Snortin' Bull? The database is helpful, but that pic is just too small. Was it a rare paint scheme? I am thinking about tracking one down but want to make sure it's a scheme I absolutely like. Unless there's a decent razorback version ...

What did you use for the antenna loop for the 262? Did you cut off the other weird antenna, or open the body up to just take it out? I've been meaning to modify that for ages.

I think your Zero is too dark because you used IJN grey instead of IJN light grey. Also, decals will go on better with a glossy coat of paint, which you can then cover with a flat clear coat to reduce the shiny edges of the decals. Hope these pointers help for next time...

Macchi canopy detail

So I was always kind of bothered by the back of the 21C Macchi canopy, and how it had a bit of a gap between the fuselage and the glass. I always attributed this to the limitations of the toy. Now, I had been to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum a bunch of times, but I never really paid much atte...

1/32 21 C model kit decals

Is there a site or a listing or a picture of the alternate decals for the 21C model kits? I seem to recall there was a Bunker Hill option for their smaller Corsair, which would have looked nice. Plus, I'm trying to see if one of the Macchis had a scheme with the Italian red/green/white roundel... ED...

I had heard rumours that someone had indeed picked up the molds, but I haven't heard anything since, and it seemed a kind of hush-hush thing until an official announcement was made. SO someone out there is aware of the demand, but like the previous posts, maybe the economy is stalling any relaunches.
