It had been painted, but as the photo shows different shades were used almost by part. The photos don't due it justice. Besides the underside showing different shades the most noticeable in the photos would be the gray on the upper left wing. The inner non-folding is much lighter then the outer fol...

I don't want to sound like a wet blanket but that Hellcat does not look up to speed. The paint looks a little sloppy and the decal jobs looks to be some what wanting. Of course I do not paint stuff myself so what do I know ? But if this is what they do , that F-100 maybe wanting as well. :? The dec...

Just to clarify, I'm not trying to hijack this topic, just showing recent examples of PWP's work to give an idea. After the hellcat was shipped but before arrival, MTS contacted me to let me know the next batch will be better.

Just a quick photo review of the PWP RN Hellcat ($400 shipped) I bought in Oct this year. For chuckles I've also included some photos of the Skywave P-51 ($800 shipped)that I'd bought before MTS started listing the brand. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t223/chunks_album/IMG_0527.jpg http://i161....

Hummmmm.... I wouldn't worry about it too much. I'd got PWP designs RN Hellcat back in early Oct. It's a very poor custom. Uneven colour throughout, as though the customizer was using up leftover paint from several different colours and makes. The decals were roughly cut in too many ways an...

I officially gave up on customs coupla months ago after Skyworks p-51 in '07 and PWP Designs Hellcat this last Oct. I'm now giving up preordering. I'm keeping it coming, just in case it's one of the "late" ones when JSI couldn't find any more drums of gray paint and had to make it last. But I'm gonn...

This is the guy that also had the prototype desert BF-109. From looking at his other listings and his history, all but a very few are 21c. He might be related to them and is clearing out what was left. It would take someone who's been there and been introduced around to know. Not that it matters, it...

After a quick check of online photos, here's what I've found of what weathering can look like on the 1/1 tomcat. All photos courtesy of Cybermodeler Online. JSI's preshading technique is inline for a great model. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t223/chunks_album/030411-n-0780f-053.jpg http://i161...

Navy guy I once knew advised me, back in the days I was modeling, that the maintenance guys always carried around a spray can of paint to touch up the F-14's. Opening and closing panels, doors, etc, heck just everyday use would cause paint chipping. So they'd touch up constantly. The NavSpec paint t...

Franklin Mint put outta buncha tanks, but the bigger ones were all 1/24. There might be some 1/18, but I'd never come across any.
