this is a picture of what appears to be a turretless tiger I tank towing a Russian IS-2 in the spring of '44. Is this ligit? Was it some kind of field modified Tiger tank?

German WWI 77mm gun
Palmer Plastics made a model kit they called 75mm WWI artillery piece, 1/24 scale. Turns out, it's actually a decent model of a German 77mm gun used during WWI and it's almost exactly 1/18 scale. It's simplified a bit of course but it's a pretty decent replica. These guns were used by Germany throug...

Re: Joy Toy 1/18 WWII Soviet Infantry Review?
interesting, thanks guys. On BIg Bad Toy Store site it says they are 4.13 inches tall...which is pretty big, almost 6' 3" in height. That's kinda large, more like 1/17 scale.
BTW, how are Marauder's figures? They look quite good, albeit pricey...

Joy Toy 1/18 WWII Soviet Infantry Review?
Can anyone give a quick review of these 5 figures? To my eye from what I've seen they look a bit super hero-ish in proportion with oversized weapons. Is that a fair assessment?

Re: Anyone built the Freedom Models 1/16 Kettenkrad?
i wasn't aware Marauder made figures. Quite a selection. Even a couple of British figures. Not as many Germans as I would have expected; most figures are US Marines.
I see they're not cheap. How are they for size, quality and articulation compared to BBI and XD figures?

Bruder Agricultural and Construciton vehicles
just a heads up. While the official scale of Bruder vehicles is 1/16, many if not all the larger ones are a bit smaller than that. I just got the Volvo A60H mining dump truck and it is almost exactly 1/18. Years ago I got their big Cat Bulldozer, which is a D9 and it is pretty much 1/20 scale, sligh...

Re: WTF happened to the price of Star Wars figures?
boy you've got that right. Army building is a thing of the past. I've cut way back on sci fi figures for years now as I've been out of space. I just noticed a couple of my stormtroopers have yellowed and was looking into replacing them....that's when I got the sticker shock. I'll repaint the ones I ...

WTF happened to the price of Star Wars figures?
Not sure how much they are selling for in the US but in Canada, 3.75 inch figures are selling for $24-27 each. What???? I remember several years ago when they went up to $10 I was ticked off. I will NEVER buy one at that price or anything even close to that price.

Re: I just discovered i have a 1/18 Ford Mutt!
thanks for the info. I discovered that the Marines did use M151's during the first Gulf War. They were painted sand and usually carried several tow anti tank missiles. Somewhat reminiscent of the SAS jeeps in North Africa during WWII, But otherwise there were no M151's used by US forces .

I just discovered i have a 1/18 Ford Mutt!
In fact I've had it for over a decade...lol. It's made by Power Team and came as an accessory in some Powerteam set I bought...I think it was the bridge playset. I didn't think it was anything real and just tossed it in the accessories bin and forgot about it. It's not bad, no glass in the windshiel...

Re: I Love Kit 1/16 Artillery
Ah, this is old news. These are Merit kits. And there were prebuilt versions several years ago. I guess I Love Kit, is the Canadian importer of the kits. Nice looking models. And the 1/24 WWI aircraft look good too. Shame they didn't go all the way and make them 1/18. But with 1/18 pretty much a dea...

I Love Kit 1/16 Artillery
this may be old news but I just found some very nice looking 1/16 scale artillery kits by I Love Kit. Prices don't seem that bad, considering resin kits of this size cost many hundreds of dollars. There's an M198 155mm howitzer and a WWII German 15cm howitzer, along with other 1/16 stuff and a 1/18 ...

Re: Elite Forece M1114 up armored Humvee review?
thanks PH. The wheels I might be able to live with but the lack of windows is a deal breaker. Can't be bothered to make my own. And as it turns out, the up armored Humvee is too heavy for the Blackhawk to lift. Nertz. I'm contemplating scratch building a crude M119 howitzer for my Blackhawk to lift....

Elite Forece M1114 up armored Humvee review?
Looking for opinions of the Elite Force M1114 up-armored Humvee. Is it good scale wise? Looking for an inexpensive Humvee to make into a sling load for my BBI Blackhawk. Of course, i'm not even sure a Blackhawk can lift an up-armored Humvee.

do any of the Elite Force figures come with the RQ-11 drone? i'd like to get my hands on one but don't want to have to buy the SWCC boat.

there are some pretty groovy new Navy Seal boats around. the Combat Craft Assault, Medium and Heavy. Wouldn't mind seeing toy boats of those made, though they would be woefully under scale, no doubt.

ah ok, thanks. Not familiar with it. I thought BBI was long out of making 1/18 figures and vehicles. This is clearly a more toyish product but still not awful.
