Re: New Revell Germany PT 109 kit
yes depth charges on the bow, proper 37mm at gun and a partially detailed interior, which I don't think was on the original kit?

Re: New Revell Germany PT 109 kit
amazing coincidence....just moments ago I was checking to see if it had been released yet. Looks much better than the old Revell kit of the 1960's.

Re: Luft X 1/72 German Haunebu I Display Model
A few quick shots of the Haunebu II kit. That's excellent job. It looks way better than the Luf-x version. The Luft X version is a built up model of the Wave Haunebu I kit. The Haunebu I was a much smaller craft than the Haunebu II, which is what the Squadron kit represents, and had wheeled u/c a l...

Re: Luft X 1/72 German Haunebu I Display Model
this has been released now. I just ordered one. From the Mule pics it looks to be one of Luft-X's best offerings, quality wise. Has retractable or at least optional u/c up/down positions. I'm sure it's the Wave kit built up. Going to be a fun addition to the collection, albeit a guilty pleasure :D

xd mg 34's are pretty scarce. The marauder ones are pretty good and probably your best bet, PH.

Re: FOV
Lightning: thanks for your input, it's interesting. I agree Canada needs retailers but the reality is that there are very few who carry items such as these and when they do the prices are beyond sky high. I can give you all the reasons why it's like this but I won't bore you...suffice to say it's ha...

Re: FOV
thanks Tman for the info. I can see this as being a mistake by FOV. Large boxes are expensive to ship in most parts of the world. And shipping costs that are nearly the same price as the model itself will discourage many buyers, including me. These may sell out anyway but I can certainly see high sh...

Re: FOV
I've looked into getting some of the new FOV ship models but the shipping prices retailers are asking are too high. Usually $40 from the US to Canada......UK retailers are even more ridiculous at 75 pounds for shipping. They have the weight listed as over 2kg (4.4 pounds)......which I find very hard...

Re: ~1/72 Last Jedi Tie Silencer from Hasbro
I think you have the Revell kit Tman? I posted about the Hasbro version which only needs to have the wings snapped on and as far as I know, has no light/sound features. Both are virtually the same size though, afik. The Revell kit looks good; I may pick it up instead of the Hasbro one.

~1/72 Last Jedi Tie Silencer from Hasbro
Hasbro is releasing a 10 inch long Tie Silencer toy/model. The 'real' thing is around 57 feet and change long so toy works out to be 1/70 scale. For $13 doesn't look too bad. Not sure i'm sold on the design, but I guess it could be viewed as an evolution of the tie interceptor...only larger. I am su...

Re: where to put swastikas on go-229
is it certain that the NASM 229 hasn't had the swastikas added after the war? They look much fresher and less worn than the rest of the paint job. Is there an actual wartime photo of either of the completed 229s with swastikas on them? Here are a couple of wartime photos of other Horton designs with...

where to put swastikas on go-229
i'm going to be making a kit of one of these soon and have been pondering the paint scheme. The most usual place I see for the swastikas is right at the pointy rear of the wing, side by side. However, I think that looks dumb plus, it would be nice to put stripes in that area, like this: https://c1.s...

Question for experienced modellers re: resin kits
I have a reasonable amount of experience building plastic model kits in my life, but virtually none building resin kits. I am seriously considering getting the Anigrand 1/72 C-5 Galaxy kit. So, my question is, given my experience, do you think I would be able to complete the kit? I usually use super...

Re: A 1:72nd Scale Chinese TU-16 Arrives
thanks for the review, Epap. Looks to be a decent effort, though the price is somewhat stiff (about $250US shipped). The K version of the H-6 was one developed specifically by the Chinese, with most notably, modifications to the nose and tail gunner areas. I''m not sure there is a direct Soviet/Russ...

Re: Luft X 1/72 German Haunebu I Display Model
I was just looking at the Mule link and I think this offering by Luft-X is going to be a built up model kit, which is good. It will most likely be the Wave Haunebu which is also 8 x 8 inches (it's the smaller of the two model kits available...the other is quite a bit larger even though they are both...

Re: Luft X 1/72 German Haunebu I Display Model
there are currently two 1/72 model kits of the Haunebu available and now the Luft X prebuilt is coming. I'm hoping Luft X is offering a built up version of one of the existing plastic kits, as it will probably be better quality than anything Luft X create on their own.
