Re: 1/18 SIDEWINDER IS HERE!!!!!!!!

The Sidewinders itself is pretty cool. The real story however is that room and that collection. I'm very jealous but I have to thank you because I have yet another photo to remind my girl that my collection is reasonable.

Re: long time lurker..!st post.

If you need a starting point for the de-spotting of the spotcat I'd check out the customs thread. There are quite a few different posts there about customs and projects. I also know there are quite a few people here with a wealth of experience you can draw from. If you have a reasonable skill level ...

Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION

As if I wasn't confused enough to start with. I am only allowed one Dauntless. I initially was leaning Midway, then I took a 2nd and 3rd look at the Coral Sea, and now I have a third unknown version to possibly contemplate. I definitely want one but I'd kick myself if I got an S1 or S2 and the third...

Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION

I've been planning on waiting for the Midway as the Dauntless I buy. I can't afford both and based on the concept drawing they used to promote I was psyched. Of course I know the art is always slightly different than the paint master and so on and so forth. But I can't help but feel a little disappo...

Re: My Photo-Edited 1:32 Focke-Wulf Red 19

Awesome photo Karl. Thanks to the guys in the forum I just recently discovered TM here in Orlando. Found this same FW as well as some cool 1/18 soldiers. Maybe one of the coolest discoveries were some 1/35 models of scout cars, panthers, and swimmwagens for $5. BTW this is my first but most likely n...

Re: 1/16 vs 1/18 tanks

The majority of my collection is 1/18. But I broke down and bought a 1/16 King Tiger a couple months ago. I don't use it much but it is kinda cool to drive it around, scares the hell out of my poor dog tho. That being said I prefer my 1/18 stuff and the KT dwarfs just about all of it. For the time b...

Re: WHERE IS JSI?

As a fan of the Tomcat I am thankful JSI made it. I know the QC issues were rampant but all in all I'm happy with my spotcat. The paint hasn't bothered me to the extent I've bought an airbrush. And although sagging after 2 years on my flight deck she is still supported only by her original gear. I'm...

Re: 1/18 Pershing tank found (sort of)

I was wondering about the hobbyraw site. I'm considering buying a KT from them, but I don't know anyone who has dealt with them yet. And I searched google for any reviews or feedback and came up empty. When your Pershing arrives would you mind letting me know what you think of them? Thanks much.

Re: F-14 GE F110 & F18 F404 Exhaust Nozzel

Nathan just got my nozzles in the mail. These things are huge, they don't even look like they'd fit. Really excited to start this project. Just wondering do you have any paint suggestions? This is my first project since high school which will require paint so I figure a little advice couldn't hurt.

Re: Post all JOE SCALE discussion here...read first post

As a kid I don't think there was a Joe I didn't have. Unfortunately god knows where they are now. I was considered buying a Killer Whale a couple months ago but stumbled on an affordable Jolly Rogers Hornet. I loved the Night Force version that and the Skystriker were cool as a kid. Looking at it no...

What I wouldn't give for those prototypes, especially the A-10. Had they lasted another couple years who knows what might have been.

Re: Post all JOE SCALE discussion here...read first post

I came to the realization that a lot of what I collect now stems from a childhood interest in militaria spurred on by what else than G.I. Joe. My love of the SkyStriker kindled a love of the F-14 hence my Jolly Rogers Tomcat. Which I have parked on the deck of my U.S.S. Flagg next to the 30th annive...

And here I thought I was the only person with such a love for the poor ole spotcat. It was my first "expensive" piece and remains my favorite. BTW if someone comes along and is looking for information on the battery issue again there are some helpful videos on youtube. I can't think of them right of...

Wow those 2 are awesome. I might need one of each, altho I can hear my bank account and other half grumbling. So far I only collect 1:18 stuff and haven't built a model in 15 years due to nerve damage in my hands but these might be must haves.
