Depending on price I'd go for a Stuart or second choice, a Deuce and a half.

Re: 1/18 FW-190A?
Sorry to hear that Av'nut. It must be difficult having information you know will make people excited, only to have them question or criticize one thing or another. The only thing that concerns me and will make or break it, is the price (and I think that is a fair "how much would I spend on a toy" qu...

Re: Prepping for paint question
I'm SLOWLY rebuilding/repainting a XD P47. Ive wet sanded it down with fine sandpaper (I think it was 1000 grit). You can still see the original colours but it looks like it's come in for a wheels up grass landing. I plan on a primer coat first, just so i can see the overall finish first. I original...

Re: REVIEW OF THE 1/18 scale Harrier AV-8B
Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but is the front landing gear set to far forward (towards the nose)? Doing a quick visual check, the leading edge of the front gear door should be roughly halfway between the front of the intake and front edge of the sliding canopy. The merit gear doors look l...

Re: REVIEW OF THE 1/18 scale Harrier AV-8B
Doing a quick revision to my harrier. Managed to get the canopy off, and seat out. It looks like either the front gear ceiling or bottom of the seat will need to be shaved order to make it all fit. This is a resin pilot sitting directly on top of the front gear ceiling. http://i156.photobucket.com/a...

Re: How big should 1/18 scale aircraft get?
I still would love to have a sunderland flying boat. It would propably only have the cockpit deck for internal detail. I figured if i ever got around to building one i could build just the fuselage as a standalone assembly. That way you can display it like a large scale boat. You can always have win...

Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION
Just weathering my dauntless. As i was handling it the centre airbrake came off. Is the airbrake meant to have a small axle moulded into each hinge point? I cant really make out how it was meant to fit in originally.

Re: African American Figure Skin Color
You may find this page of some help: http://www.missing-lynx.com/articles/figures/mbblack.htm The fifth paragraph down has a "simple" explanation and the various colours used. It isn't an out of the bottle colour though, and the explanation involves the use of highlights and shadows. I think you cou...

Re: Salvage Yard
Hey guys. I'm looking for a XD P-38 canopy. Ideally from a "Putt Putt Maru". After the main part and the top hatch (I don't need the hatch that slides down into the cockpit).
Also a set of XD Stuka wheels/spats and rear stabs from a first series Stuka (flying Pig Crest).

Re: Which of these 1/18 21st Century Planes is most Scarce?
I think scientifically, you could present data. So over the course of a certain time period (the longer the better) you would compare each and every 1/18 plane, and mark how many times that particular plane has been presented for sale (both commercial and the "used" market). So obviously the planes ...

I've used the Tamiya ones before on model cars. Good to use if there is a moulded edge (or raised detail) to run the pen tip against. Are they bullet tips or like a block/wedge tip?

Could you cannibalise a cheap RC toy, and just use it's remote to activate the engine/prop? Not sure of battery life though.
