Has anyone purchased from Banggood?

there is something I want to buy but i'm pretty much unfamiliar with the trustworthiness of the place. I gather that it's like Aliexpress? They take Paypal, which Ali doesn't and I like that. But i'm concerned about getting the wrong item or a smashed up item. Paypal requires returning such items be...

Re: RC Plane Talk

how about this B-2? Just released today. Over a 7 foot wingspan! https://www.motionrc.com/products/freewing-b-2-spirit-bomber-twin-70mm-edf-jet-pnp-fj31711p?variant=42119222362297 Not 1/18, it's 1/24. But it is about the size of the B-21 Raider in 1/18 scale, though the Raider looks a bit different ...

Re: True Scale of Ultimate Soldier Willys Jeep & Kubel

yes they are truly 1/18 scale. 21st C was very good at keeping their vehicles true to scale. Sometimes the details on those vehicles were a bit over or under scale but the vehicles themselves were good, scale-wise. 1/16 accessories will probably look fine, if you are not a 'rivet counter'. . If you ...

Re: Strange mold lines on 1/18 Spitfire canopy?

I've never noticed it before either, which Is ironic, because my eyesight is a lot worse now than it was 15 years ago when I got it.

The Spitfire I am referring to is NK K, which was the first release. I wonder if all releases had this line or if it was eliminated after the first release.

Strange mold lines on 1/18 Spitfire canopy?

I just noticed that there are 2 lines, which look like mold lines on the center section of my Spitfire canopy. They go from front to back about 3/4 of the way up from the bottom of the center piece (the piece that slides open and closed). At first I thought I had a long scratch or crack on my canopy...

that's very interesting. Thanks for the tip. Edit: I've looked on the internet and there are all kinds of videos and forums discussing Salon Care 40 and yellowed plastic. Odd I didn't come across this before when I was looking for tips on getting rid of yellowed plastic. I guess I just didn't use th...

Re: 1/20 X-15, Oh My!!

daft price was a time Pegasus was very seriously considering making a 1/18 X-15. Supposedly, whether they made it or not hinged on how well their Bell X-1 did. As we all know, for whatever reason, the Pegasus X-15 never happened. However, Pegasus is still around and there would still be a lot of dem...

Re: Yellowed BBI models

I don't know about the tires as I've had the u/c retracted all this time, but I know others have commented on sticky tires. Don't know if it's caused by a reaction to sunlight or just an ageing process...I suspect the latter. The yellowing on my F-18 is so even that it can't be just sunlight alone b...

Re: It's been awhile since I've posted anything, but I thought some might fine this interesting, schrol down to the 109e

I stumbled on one of these kits a few weeks ago on Ebay. I didn't realize it was a new release, otherwise I would have reported it here. I didn't pay much attention to the listing , so I don't know if the seller had it for pre-order or if the kits were in hand. IIRC it was a HK based seller. I hope ...

Re: 1/18 Airwolf

i remember when Airwolf first aired on TV. It came out shortly after Blue Thunder, to capitalize on the box office hit. It's funny to contrast the Gazelle used as Blue Thunder and the Bell 222 used as Airwolf with the Apache which was under development at the time and about to enter service.

Re: RC Plane Talk

Thought i'd dust this thread off. Here's something for those with lots of space and deepish pockets, a very nice looking B-24 Liberator. Works out to be 1/16.7 scale, so a bit oversized but looks very well proportioned and nicely detailed. 6 1/2 foot wingspan and 4 feet long, so lots of room needed....

Re: Yellowed BBI models

No, it's not really anything how mine looks. The only thing I noticed on your model is the contrast between the canopy frame and the fuselage colour in the last pic, but that could be caused by camera flash. The side of the fuselage looks a tad greenish to me...mine is like that times 10. The only o...

Hey Tman......you're still here too! Terrific. I'm a bit surprised others haven't experienced the problem with the F-18 yellowing that I have. The 1/18's that never happened (but i thought they would)

I've been away from collecting 1/18 for quite a while and am just getting back into it recently (aircraft only). I was surprised by a few of the subjects that never got made. I figured Pegasus was a slam dunk for an Me-163 Komet, but it nor any other 1/18 subjects came out of Pegasus after the first...

Re: Yellowed BBI models

I've considered repainting but it's a lot of work and the decals would be a problem, as there is nothing available commercially. For now I have it in a room with moderate lighting and it looks almost normal in colour as a result. There are a few painted areas on it, the canopy framing, horizontal ta...

Heya Normandy.....good to see some of the original members are still here. Almost 17 years now.....more if we go back to Groundpounder's board which predated me. I joined it in late 2000, several months after GP started it. As to BBI yellowing.....no doubt it's the plastic. BBI had a tendency to use...

Yellowed BBI models

Hello everyone, looooong time since I've posted. A couple of my BBI 1/18 aircraft have yellowed, either with time or from sunlight or both. My F-18 is essentially a pale green colour overall (yellowed plastic + blue grey original colour= green), and my Apache canopy and the clear tips of the Hellfir...
