Let's please not talk about building models... I just dug out a 1/48 A-10 kit from 1996 that I never got around to building. I swear that both my hand and eyes did a lot better 15 years ago... It is NOT encouraging when I am looking under my glasses to look at detail work! I still have, oh ...

what is the likelihood of an Avenger stationed on a carrier having rocket that is not being used for sub hunting. In the PTO, quite likely I would think. The major anti-sub ops were in the Atlantic IIRC, while the PTO was involved in destroying the enemy fleet and island hopping. With island hoppin...

Much to may shock and amazement I saw the Pak 40 and new halftracks at the local walmart today. Needless to say, I bought them. I did leave the Stuka Zu Fuss behind, it looks too weird. maybe I'll grab it if it hits clearance. How did the Stuka zu Fuss work anyway? Did the bombs launch out of the c...

From Badcat: Introducing the Sdkfz. 251/22 Ausf. D with 7.5cm Pak 40 anti tank cannon. It seems that 21st Century Toys just couldn’t resist combining these two awesome products to create this historical variant! The Pak-40 Hanomag will be the fourth and final version of the famous German Halftrack o...

I'm just wondering if the guys complaining about the ammo drums have drilled the barrels? DH I haven't drilled out the four barrels on the mount yet because I wasn't sure until today that I'd be keeping the piece. I've done so to all of the MGs on my halftracks and tanks and many models before, I n...

My stuff has been fine, (with the exception of the screw holes on the Avenger, of course). The biggest problem I've had was the time when I received the sherman and was so impatient getting it out of the box I ripped the 50 cal, 50 cal barrel brace, and something that shoulda been on the top of the ...

From looking at Hunnicut's Sherman Tome, This looks like an early development model. However all the photo's show the hulls used to be "composite" ie rounded cast front with squared off sides and rear and larger hatches. More like the BBI Sherman with rounded edges to the front armour. Trying to ID ...

i suppose it's accurate to scale other then that? I was hoping it would be a bit small (ie closer to 1/18 ). :P Other than that it looks good. It is noticeably larger then the bbi Abrams and fits in well with the other 1/16 stuff. As far as the scale difference, I keep the 1/16 stuff on a separate ...

Also the lack of wood crate is a big minus. I'm still using pieces of it for tinder. Not being sarcastic, wood for heat is good!!
