1/18 BBI Pavehawk New In Box NOW ON EBAY
[/color] LOWER PRICE $160 plus $20 shipping I have a New In Box 1/18 BBI Pavehawk up for sale. Box is in good condition but does show some minor shelf wear. This is really just a blackhawk that is painted with the Airforce Camo scheme for their pavehawk - it is the same mold as the blackhawk. I'm as...

Re: The 1/18 Welly diecast Jeep Willys is out and looks grea
 I thought everyone knew ACE Hardware supplied the Army with their giant Philips screwdrivers and sealed batteries (Wallyworld wasn't founded till 1962). I didn't mean to get you all "riled up" just trying to point out that the Autoart is indeed more detailed than the Welly - not just the same...

Re: The 1/18 Welly diecast Jeep Willys is out and looks grea
I think you can make a good argument that the Welly is a better value than the Autoart, but I think saying it is just as good for 1/6 the price is stretching. The detail on the Autoart blows the Welly and all other 1/18 willy's away. Canvas seats, lots of detailed and removeable accessories (like th...

Good Deal? Dragon Models 1/6 SAS 1/4 Ton 4x4 Desert Raider
Is this a good deal?

I'm not a 1/6 collector but thought it looked pretty cool.

I did not make the internal tanks. Was hoping maybe Pickelhaube would eventually get around to making these one day.

Sounds like a cool idea. Unfortunately, I don't think I could justify a 8hr one way trip for me. If it was a half day one way I might make the effort.
Good luck,

Re: Helicopters
From one "rotorhead" to another (although I have fixed wing and even armor as well), if you enjoy getting your hands a little dirty - there are some great mods you can do to make your choppers unique. A guy named Pickelhaube makes some great kits as add ons. They require a little "work" to get them ...

Re: The Hun aka GI Woofer MIA No more
The Hun did a beautiful Vietnam Era M113 a few years back that was an inspiration to me to do a Desert Storm Era M113. Mine wasn't quite in the same league as his, but he gave me a nice compliment on it nonetheless, which made me feel pretty good coming from him.

Re: Installing electric motors on 1:18 aircraft
Tman, Yes, I remember the flying 1/18 Cobra, blackhawk, pavehawk, apache, huey, and littlebird. They were done by a guy that went by NYTURTLE and Scalemaster on one of the scale RC forums. It was seeing these that originally inspired me to get into 1/18 to begin with. Here's a couple photos of his f...

Re: Littlebird history question
Also, removal of the doors gives much better visibility to the pilots. These are the best rotary wing pilots in the world and their missions often require them to put a little bird in tight places that many would never imagine a helicopter being able to put down. Sometimes just a foot or 2 clearance...

Re: UH-60 Blackhawk repaint
My vote goes to the Blackhawk. I have both the F16 (Wolfpack) and the original blackhawk, as well as a Pickel Pavehawk and a NIB pavehawk waiting for Pickel's DAP conversion. They both really are cool, but I find myself taking the Blackhawk down more often to "mess" with. It's a beast in terms of "p...

Re: UH-60 Blackhawk repaint
I think the original blackhawk/pavehawk would be easier to modify vs the newer nite raid version. Although, it does require major modifications regardless of the version you choose. Have you seen MIG29K's thread on his seahawk (it has many of the same mods you would have to do for the coast guard ve...

Flyboy,
Yes, they droop when static. Most display "in air" though due to the size, especially the 4 bladed blackhawk and apache - and in flight the blades should not be drooping.

Re: New 1/18 Mh-60 Black Hawk Review
Assuming it is similar to the blackhawk and pavehawks from BBI then you should be able to actually "play" with this. The plastic is very strong on the wheels and elsewhere. I've heard people dropped theirs and didn't have any gear break, although I wouldn't recommend trying an "autorotation" from a ...

With only 1 exception (a guy named Jack from you know where) I have had nothing but great deals all around - probably 15 to 20 total. Re: Which Modern upgrade Will be next Dap Helo/New Humvee tu
I probably won't be able to throw money at the DAP till after May if that helps your planning. So I guess HMMV would be my bet for now, although I can't wait to turn my pavehawk into a DAP.

Re: New 1/18 Mh-60 Black Hawk Review
I know most of you don't display "on tarmac" but rather in the air hanging from ceiling. That's totally understandable considering their enormous size. Displayed on the ground, though, the blade droop actually looks realistic, maybe even needs a little more droop to look like 1:1. Obviously, in the ...

Re: New 1/18 Mh-60 Black Hawk Review
Pickel, I'm glad I didn't get one. It appears that it would be much more difficult to turn the new one into the DAP I eventually want than it will to use my new in box pavehawk I've been saving for that purpose. Those M134s sure look nice though! I'm still on for a set of window inserts, miniguns, c...
