Re: Ebay lot of 4 Gaincorp 1/72 Flankers

......Even with buy it now price plus shipping, gonna be reasonable compared to getting these individually, if you can even find them. Agreed. I've been taking a closer look at Gaincorp's Flankers lately, mainly because they make an SU-30 in a grey Russian scheme that I like a lot. http://cgi.ebay....

Ebay lot of 4 Gaincorp 1/72 Flankers

Re: 3 Wire Design 1/72 display bases

They look pretty good, ostketten..... I would prefer the Dragon one, with the blast shield, myself...... Those Dragon carrier dio's are getting scarce, but Amazon still has a few @ $47 which looks like a pretty good deal when you consider that the shipping is free. I may get one... I haven't decide...

Flying Mule has put up some real nice shots of the soon to be released HM EF-111A Raven. To stay within budget this scheme is probably the only one I will buy, famous last words...

Re: What's with 32x aircraft prices?

They don't make them any more and no one is stepping up to the plate and filling the void with any new prebuilt 1/32 aircraft. Yup, supply and demand. As the supply steadily decreases this situation will only become more acute, and in 6 months or a year who knows, the average price could be $80+......

Re: 4D Vision F-16, F-18

Not sure where these will be available through, or price. Hopefully these will be available soon. Aikens now has all four (2 F-16's & 2 F-18's) up for pre-order, but with no firm release dates or price. I was surprised at how big these models are in 1/48, the Aikens 4D Hornet is listed @ 16 inches ...

The Sundowners F-5 tops my list, and the Phantom & F-111 look tempting too. BTW, where did you download the image....?? That's great news on the weapons sets for the A-10 and I'm really happy to see HM adding some accessories to their product line. 8)

3 Wire Design 1/72 display bases

Picked up this 1/72 scale modern carrier deck base for $19.99 from Flying Mule, it's made of 1/8 inch thick styrene by a company called "3 Wire Design" and they offer a variety of styles, scales, and sizes. This one is 11" X 17" and it's mounted in a $4 frame from Walmart. It had a little glossy she...

Thanks a bunch for that info. 8) I have a Hobby Lobby store within about a 40 mins. drive from my home, and if I can get hold of the 40% off coupon you spoke of it will definitely be worth the trip to see if they've got a "Black Aces" in stock.

Project Red Baron Reports

The "Project Red Baron" reports were the US Air Force's answer to the US Navy's "Ault reports" which resulted in the establishment of the Navy's "Top Gun" fighter weapons school. The Air Force conducted an exhaustive study of air-to-air encounters in Southeast Asia titled "Project Red Baron" and the...

IMAX "Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag"

Any of you guys seen the IMAX movie "Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag"...?? What a great flick, real hold on to your seat kind of stuff, and what's cool about it is that it's the "real deal", not some Hollywood fantasy. Most , if not all the segments can be viewed on Youtube, but it doesn't do it j...

Weapons detachable?
Yes, at least the four AIM-7 Sparrows on the fuselage mounts are. I'm pretty sure the gear is fixed permanently down on this model, but from what Snake says some of the newer Witty models have gear up/down options, though I couldn't tell you which ones specifically.

The Ault Report...... The Birth of "Top Gun"

The "Ault Report", or more formally the Air-to-Air Missile System Capability Review, was a sweeping study of US Navy air-to-air missile performance during the period of 1965 to 1968, conducted by Navy Captain Frank Ault. The study was initiated at the behest of Admiral Tom Moorer, Chief of Naval Ope...

Just got in this Witty Wings F-15C painted in the Soviet style blue camo representing "65 AGRS" the 65th Aggressor Sqdn. based @ Nellis AFB Nevada. This is my first Witty jet, at least that I have removed from the box and examined closely, and the quality and workmanship on this model exceeded my ex...

That's the cheapest I have seen it. Everywhere else it's at least $100. I just ordered one, it should make a re...
