Re: P38 Face Lift

Eh, my thought is why not just make your own from scratch since the toy is ultimately so disappointing to you? It's basically what you're doing and you'd probably spend just as much. Also not sure why he's working with acrylic so much when he could proto in wood and mold/cast so much of it himself i...

Re: 1:18 scale Colonial Marines in March 2016?

Yeah this is the same company... Supposedly "Our War" is still a thing, and going to continue, but they've got this license and are zeroed in on it at the moment. If you're into Aliens and this scale, I really cannot recommend their Aliens that are available right now. I got one out of curiosity, an...

Re: 1:18 scale Colonial Marines in March 2016?

Wow I don't agree with that assessment... These are miles superior to PTE IMO. I've been really excited about this line for a while, and now Hiya's been teasing they may try their hand at the APC... Asking for blueprints online if anyone has hi-res ones. Hiya's had them up for pre-order on BBTS for ...

Re: Need furred winter caps for german soldiers

They make a reducer for resin casting too... Reduces casts by a certain amount, so you can theoretically take a 1/6 sculpt and eventually shrink to 1/18 or smaller. Weird stuff, but a neat idea.

Re: Vietnam Tanker/Pilot Helmets

Be further ahead pissing with casting on your own and trying your hand at it than paying folks who make a store out of it, generally. If you're only wanting to copy stuff that is. Making your own stuff like PH, that's a whole other game. But casting itself, not hard at all. Pretty easy actually, and...

Anyone buying 1/6 WW2 Figures? Kinda Wanna Sell My Few.

Title says it all, just gauging anyone's interest.

I have a few Dragon guys, an MG34 team and a couple US infantry... May have some random things I'd toss in and their boxes. Just want to sell things off though and clean up around my place a bit.

1/6 figures were fun, but just weren't my bag.

Re: Indiana Jones Staff Car?

Yes, and iirc it's a "Horsch"? I'm probably butchering that. The Indy car is a pretty solid base to work with to make them. I think there's quite a few pics of them around. I think I've seen it called a "radio car" too. I believe there are some variants or slightly different vehicles but very simila...

Forget if the kits are 1/18 or 1/20 but HLJ is taking orders on those still if that's what you mean. If you're talking some kind of figure/toy line though I wasn't aware of it. :(

If you're going to promote your store on a public forum, which you SHOULD be paying something to the site's owners to do, then you should expect a little venom thrown your way one way or the other. Just sayin'. :)

Re: New BBI Knock off Zero ?

Technically listing it as styrene isn't inaccurate I suppose. Makes sense how it sits so nice on that stand then though. Much lighter than a 1/18 "model" type plane.

I never owned the BBI Zero to compare to that pic, but that doesn't look like what I recall of it?

I dig the stand... Pretty slick extra. Out of Japan I'd think less a knock-off and more likely just a product from their country. They have the coolest stuff.

If you wanna remove just a spot, try Goof Off. DO NOT use it heavily. Actually be careful using it sparingly for that matter. Potent, eats plastic.

Saw some PTE stuff at my BL today. The only new thing really was that 8 wheeled amphibious buggy thing... Beyond that, it was SOS basically, and less than most of you have seen. I'd buy another bunker or two I think if I saw them, but none to be found here.

Re: HELP with posting photos on this board

JOC, Comcast gives you a Snapfish allowance for hosting pictures. I use mine pretty well to host pics from trips. I'm not sure if you can hotlink (IE: use the IMG tags in the forums) directly to your images or not. You'd have to look into that, but essentially SnapFish is like a Photobucket account,...

Re: What type of paint did 21st Century use on their A/C

Most toy companies use paints that adhere to the plastics. There's actual chemical bonding. This isn't how spray paints and things work. Toy companies like to keep these trade secrets... uh... secret, basically, and not share much about them. It's how we went from helmets wearing off the paint on an...

You won't get anything from the last wave for cheap... that'd be Marion in her dress, Toht, Satipo (Jungle guide), Indy German uniform... They were a SDCC exclusive only in a big boxed set that cost an arm and a leg at the show and costs 2 of each now. Plus whatever's left, to ship it.

Unfortunately apples/oranges for them... WW2/military stuff they're fearing doesn't have the traction the Aliens stuff does which sort of has a built-in audience, just not in this scale. Even with some licensing issues between there and here, regarding those Aliens figures, still seem like a more pa...

Yeah, they're working on a few USCMarines, and a Power Loader... Can't wait! Their Aliens themselves are absolutely exquisite by the way, and the USCM looked so much like a GI Joe or Acid Rain figure that I was simply giddy. I think they learned a lot from their Our War and German figures. I'm curio...

It took someone reminding me of the Spotcat rage to remember why everyone hated BC haha. I couldn't even recall. Melvin was not BC that I'm aware of.
