Re: New Merit 1/18 plane announced -ALL HAS BEEN REVEALED!

come to think of it.....wasn't Trumpeter planning on doing a KIT of a 1/18 Dauntless? Maybe they are doing it as a built up instead (like their Easy Model line)? It was Hobby Boss that was supposedly releasing a kit of the SBD in 1/18 but they canceled it late last year. I'm betting this one Merit ...

I made one a couple years ago for a guy based on this fellow's work. Altogether I've seen probably 3 of these customs from different guys.

Re: Badcat's "If I were a manufacturer"

I would say Rob has a little more incite as to costs than most on forums give him credit for. Lest we forget BCA is about the only ones to have exclusives commissioned so of course they know what it takes to get something made. Naturally he's thinking from a profit perspective, he is after all a ret...

Re: AllGo is all go!

New collectors enter the hobby everyday so personally I think AG's decision to re-release two popular 32xw planes will prove a sound decision. Shangri-la was what, a TRU exclusive that sold out fairly quick, at least in my AO. I understand some forum member's disgust with the plan, but the more coll...

Re: King & Country Prices....Out of Control!

Sounds like a case where higher price more limited release may bite them.

The D.V's look superb but I just can't get in to another odd scale like 1/30. Almost bought a D.V then had second thoughts thanks to Monkey Depot incompetence.

I would like to get some too but just can't justify the price. I don't think the government's checkbook would be very handy, it would be a hot check!

Re: Two Modern Birds after the BF-109.

Hmmm....I wonder if one or both are "new" subjects? It may be a long shot but how awesome it would be if one of them was the A-10 they never released. More than likely it's a repaint of the F-18 and the Thunderbird F-16. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Very encouraging news for the hobby though. Woul...

Re: Gray PAK 88 1/18 scale is hot or dead

it has been confirmed at least 3 times that these are indeed repaints of the DAK coloured 88's and not newly produced items. The original DAK paint has been seen on the grey versions, in obscure spots. For sure these are repaints. Yup, a friend of mine bought one and it is absolutely a repaint. Ver...

here another good deal http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250872303095 "New in box never removed". :? So it got repainted still in the box? Quite a craftsman that did that... Unless I'm missing something, these are mere repaints by a dealer in China. If there is info to the contrary...

Re: Authentic vs Badass

I'd say authentic too. However, making it 'badass' would be fun to paint. Really imo, if you intend to sell it later on, I think either scheme would likely sell. The rivit counters would like the authentic livery but I know from experience there are alot of guys that do like the "what if" stuff like...

Re: Boxes or no boxes?

I keep alot of stuff in the boxes and display it that way, especially if it has a particularly attractive box. I display them on various shelves etc. Alot of times it's an actual space saver. However be careful of excessive fluorescent light exposure as it will fade stuff. I collect for fun and also...

I lost interest in collecting 1/18 for myself because of all the messes from pretty much all the big makers, don't even frequent the forum that much anymore. Haven't even pre-ordered any of the "new" repaints. Now if they come out with some new molds I'll jump back in. I just wish the AT Hartmann Sa...

Yeah for the price I think they're just fine. I don't care about pilots either, I'm not gonna pass up a nice looking plane just because it doesn't have a little slag of plastic that looks like the toxic avenger anyways.

Oh, so now there's 6....

Based on the seller, it's legit I'd almost guarantee. And as far as some of the insignia being a little sloppy, that's correct as the yellow 23 marking for example was hand painted with a brush.

At this point I would be happy for just one release of what's already been promised in the past by all the companies. If I had to choose one of those many broken promise items then I would go for the B-25.
