Re: 1/18th King Tiger !!
I found some info on Tiger II production; Allied bombing caused the loss in production of at least 657 Tiger II = 940 planned v 283 produced from September '44 until March '45 when the Henschel factory was overrun. The highest monthly total produced was 94 in August '44 which dropped following a ser...

Re: Custom 1/18 Spitfires on Ebay
The Spitfires arrived on Monday, and having had chance to look them over, as expected there is indeed things to be done on both of the models. On the JE-J The radiators are too deep, and as can be seen there are areas of the model which will need sanding smooth and rescribing, but I think the majori...

Re: Custom 1/18 Spitfires on Ebay
There's work needed for sure (On both of them) but at the very least I've got a good starting point as and when I get time to sort them.
They will be here later today as he's delivering them in person because we're only 25 miles apart...

Re: Looking for a photo of the BBI 1/18 F16 South Carolina A
I have recently done a great deal on another model with Berkut and I know I can buy from him with confidence - but when he made contact about another item and mentioned this F16, I realised I'd never seen - or indeed looked for a photo of that particular ANG model. Everything 1/18 is rare over here....

Re: Can you ID this tiger?????
This is Tiger 211 from Schwere SS-Panzerabteilung 102, and it's one picture from a sequence taken during the units route march to the Normandy front which started on 21st June '44. I haven't found any record of its loss, only that on 9th July '44 during an advance towards hill 112 it suffered a mech...

Re: Dragon Armor 1/72 Historical Vehicles Thread
I think the Panthers in the 60126 comparison picture are very rare in that they are two of the final production batch - They have loops for camouflage on the turret side and a post for the aa mg instead of the ring fitted to the cupola. Also they would probably have had a steel roadwheel on the oute...

Yep, I can believe it...Over here we've got one of those stores in every city. There's even one that only sells 1/18 Spitfires. Wall to wall they are, in fact you have to climb over them to get in the door. - And they have a 'buy one get one free' sale every Friday between 6 and 7 in the evening, I'...

CRAZY!!! It sure is... I can't see anything that would make these so valuable... These were $30 when they first came out. Their auction starting price is about $2250!! BUT..... If anybody really feels the urge to bid on these, please contact me first, I'll give you an immediate 10% discount off thei...

Re: 11-27-11 1/32 FOV jagd panther Repaint
Actually I think your blue and white is probably most accurate because as far as I understand, when the 3 company was re-equipping with Tiger 1 in the months prior to D-Day, their turret numbers were originally painted in solid white, but this made them stand out too much, so the blue centres were a...

Re: 11-27-11 1/32 FOV jagd panther Repaint
Great paint jobs on both vehicles. I like them both., especially the Tiger II which looks like a true battle-scarred veteran from fighting in France. The only thing I can add to the mix is regarding the turret numbers on Tiger II tanks. Normal tank establishment in the German heavy tank battalions w...

Re: Dragon Armor 1:72 Late War Panther
I like the first one with the striped scheme, and while it possibly may not have been carried by
a steel wheeler, at least other Panthers were painted in a similar way.
Not sure about this latest one. Perhaps looks a bit too 'busy' for the size of the model. IMO,

Re: Tamiya Paint Quality Issues
Sorry to hear of your problems with the Tamiya sprays.
I don't know what availability is like for you guys but if you need another alternative, the Games Workshop black or white primers are very good. I either use theirs or standard automotive primers in grey or black matt.
All the best.

Smaller scale ; Corgi 1/72 Liberator in 120 Squadron Coastal command scheme.
Larger scale ; BBI 1/18 Hornet Red Devil which took a while to get and had a couple of false starts before I managed to snag it.
Snake: Your 1/18 winner came as no surprise!!
