stug 42

They do look nice except the gun on the stug 42 is supposed to be a 105 howitzer but looks more like the short 37mm to me.l

Where will Sherman be sold?

Does anyone know if the BBI Sherman's are going to be sold at brick and morter stores like TRU or only online? I noticed local TRU has scaled back BBI's Elite forces shelf space to a couple of feet and expanded GI Joes's space.

As i understand it, the 105 Sherman replaced the M8 Howitzer spg that was mounted on the M5 chassis. It was used to give Armoured infantry a mobile artillery support. Many stories I have read refered to them as assualt guns. They were front line tanks. They were sometimes used to lead tank columns b...

While visiting with my parents Sunday, I asked them to keep on eye out for the M113 at Walmart. They were there today at the Walmart were we found the $7.00 Tigers last month and they found the tan M113 FOR $5.00. They picked up two, one for Dad and one for me. They rang up at full price but the lad...

Humvee

Finally found the GIJoe Humvee today at a KC area TRU for $16.99. Looked good till I noticed the metal axles are easly visable from the front and back. Too toy like for me.

Couple of things.

For the most part I really like what I have seen of the new BBI Sherman. One error caught my eye though. The inside of the engine grill/hatch should have armoured bullet deflectors to protect the engine from small arms fire. Wouldn't be hard to make though. Another minor item is the vision blokes on...

M113

I have finally seen a couple of the M113's in metro Kansas City. They were all full price and sand coleored. Are all the once being found at WM sand colored or has there been a variety of colors found?

vmf214, what city are you finding the M113 in? You mentioned Overland Park so I figure you must be close to south KC where I am.

M113

A diecast M113 would be more difficult to back date to a Vietnam era M113 then a plastic version would be. Unless the fuel tanks on the back and the ID marker on the side are cast seperately.

I was in the USAF from 1981 to 1985. I spent two years at Maxwell AFB in Alabama and two years at Ramstein AB in W. Germany. I had built tank models since I was thirteen , but joined the Air Force so I don't think building and collecting military models had an influence.

BBI Sherman

I think there is enough difference between this new Sherman and the old one to keep sale good. It has more differeces then the the P47 Razerback and the new Bubble top. 1 It has the later 1 piece transmission housing. 21st has early 3 piece. 2 It is a 47 degree M4A3(Ford powered) hull. 21st is radia...
