I haven't compared the T-34 to an M48 in real life (the M48 is probably bigger).

Compared to the M48 XD, it doesn't look too big. I'll post pictures tomorrow showing size comparison with the M48 XD and the Panther.

I got it from an Hong Kong based Toyeast.com their price is the cheapest I could find, $55.00. You can have it shipped airmail for a total of 75-80 dollars. Still, it's cheaper than the static kit. Mine cost $110 because I paid $55.00 for express shipping. I ordered it Thursday night, I got it Monda...

1/16 T-34/85 RC Review

Just got this tank and I thought I'd review it before posting pics of the built product. This tank is made by WSN, which I believe is the RC division of Trumpeter, the original makers of this model. So rest assured you won't be getting a crappy knock-off like the Hen Long Tiger. This RC is almost id...

If you're planning on purchasing the old 1974 Sherman, and want to battle, it won't work. I think the battle system will only work with tanks that have DMD units inside, which the old Tamiya sherman doesn't have. You can shop around for a good 4-channel transmitter, they can range from $80-$150 doll...

You get what you pay for.

Maybe there's a reason why these tigers are so cheap. Have you noticed that very few sellers on Ebay say that their tanks are made by Hen Long? That's because Hen Long is known for crappy products. It's funny that so many people are comparing these tanks' quality to Tamiya's. Aside from the upside-d...

Distorting the Truth

I've read or seen documentaries of WWII Soviet veterans who knowingly or unknowingly distort the truth. War is hell. Maybe 60 years ago, in the heat of battle, what they've done seems right and justifiable. But after looking back, maybe those vets now want to forget what they've done in the past. In...

If you mean the chevrons on modern u.s. armor, I believe they are symbols of the company that the tank belongs to. For example, a chevron pointing up is first company.

No 1/18

I don't believe there's any 1/18 armor RC out there. The closest scale I could think of is 1/16 and 1/24 Marui makes very nice bb-shooting RC tanks. They have m1a2s, leopard 2a5s, and the Japanese Type 90. There's are very nice tanks, very durable (just don't run them in water), and very detailed. A...

Anyone knows about the BBI P-40?

I was browsing amazon.com/toysrus.com and came upon this thing:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... nce&s=toys

Is this a new airplane? Or did they just mistaken the P-51 for the P-40?

Nice

Those are sweet looking armor, I especially like that mid-production Tiger I. I would like to do one, but zimmerit application is beyond me at this time. Sadly, the King Tiger is the static version only. After purchasing the full option Tiger I, I learned my lesson. When I painted and wheathered the...

Thank you for the kind words. Yeah, it's kinda scary painting a $500 model. I've been practicing painting with XD armor for a while, and I finally got up the nerve to build my dream model, the 1/16 full option Tiger. Actually these aren't my first model. My first model was the old Tamiya 1/35 ...

My Tamiya Tigers

This has been a couple of firsts for me. The first time I've ever used acrylics (Wow! They're so nice to use), the first time I used an airbrush, and the first time I ever used the wet brush technique.

You can easily kitbash a figure like that in 1/6 with all the equipment and uniforms BBI and Dragon has made in the past couple of years.

As for 1/18, I think they needed to exaggerate the camo, especially the MARPAT, because in a scale that small, you could hardly see the camo pattern.

Wow, I didn't realize that exploding turrets are a defensive feature! So guys, if you see footage of T-72s blowing up, that's what the Russian enginners meant them to do! Silly Americans with their Abrams' blow-off panels...why stop with panels when you can blow the whole turret off!

Here's a funny read about Abrams vs T-72s

Check this web-site out. It details how inferior the Abrams is against the mighty T-72. And according to this website, the Arab countries have always beaten Israelis in armored warfare because of their superior equipment. At first I thought the author was joking but...well, see for yourself. http://...

The kit cames only in two colors, light grey and olive drab. The track comes in glossy black. I'm an amateur painter too so the trick in painting all those little parts is, assemble the small pieces first, then spray paint/airbrush them individually before gluing them to the tank. IMO, if you choose...

I spent maybe a total of 4 days on building this model. Despite the huge amount of parts, its very easy to build. I want to take a break before I do the T-34/85 version since that's the one that I really want to "xtreme detail". As for the tank crews, I found this site that offers 1/16 resin soviet ...

This is the Trumpeter T-34/76 Model 1943. Now I feel like an idiot because I built and detailed all the interior parts, and you only get to see 25% of it in the end  Anyway, despite some problems that Trumpeter should have seen and fixed, This is a fantastic model, complete with PE! I recommend...

Finished my 1/16th T-34

Just got done with this monster. There were some fitting problems, and there's no way to secure the turret to the hull, just gravity. Anyway, my Tiger now has something to shoot at. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v305/GooglyDoogly/IMAG0018.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v305/GooglyDoogly/I...
