Re: Is Bad Cat about to give up the ghost...?

Too bad. There was some but they never really got heavily into the diecast scene after the fall of 21stC. They were the place to get exclusive 1:18 aircraft. They turned out quite a few. I still have all of the ones I bought. Trying to remember them as they are in storage now. P-51D Cripes a Mighty,...

Re: Japanese recon plane

Always liked the Dinah. Closest to a pre-built I have is the tiny F-Toys 1:144.

Sure would like one in 1:72 diecast, but it's not likely.

Nice work cnq.

Re: Forces of Valor cancels upcoming releases.

Is there that much 1:35 scale prebuilt out there? There's always 1:43, 1:48 or 1:50 ....can't decide what to collect in between scales from Corgi, Hobbymaster, Eaglemoss, etc. Have a few of the 1:43 Armour Collection from years ago. Bought a Panzerwerfer recently on ebay listed as 1:72 by a Chinese ...

Re: Forces of Valor cancels upcoming releases.

Curious, both FOV and 21st Century Toys made the 75mm M4 and both made the British Firefly, but neither has made the Easy 8, or M4A3E8. I don't think there is one in 1:32 for that matter :?: I can see where they would want to cancel some of the aircraft on that list as the market is saturated with o...

Re: opinions on new Corgi Ju-88 AA36709

The fact it's a torpedo bomber is the only thing that would make me buy it, but I can't get over how fugly it is, and the gaps show up way too much. if it looked like Epaps maybe.

There are some of the others still available, so maybe get a dark colored one or wait for a BoB version, or do without.

Cool! 8) I wonder how close they got to putting that on a missile? Things could have turned out quite different.

I'd seen the documentary on the nearby connected Me-262 underground complex.

Where's the flying saucer (if any) section?

Very insightful guys. Interesting to note epap, you mention the Germans painting the leading edges of their fighters grey to distinguish friend from foe when the US went to all aluminum unpainted surfaces. I wonder if the Germans knew that after Jimmy Doolittle took over bombing operations the strat...

Re: Oxford Dauntless Virgin Islands Pilot Major Christian C

Forgot to mention how interesting your explanations of British camouflage were Aferg, Epap, thanks. Makes sense though, but why only in the Atlantic? And did the Yanks figure the Brits had it down and or the white seemed to work better only in the Atlantic? For instance I can understand the use of a...

Re: Oxford Dauntless Virgin Islands Pilot Major Christian C

Didn't know those things about the Virgin Islands USCGMK2, interesting. Yeah this type SBD is not high on my list unless I could get it for a really good price, and not really impressed with the Oxford anyways. May get the EM Atlantic Wildcat, but I pretty much have all that I want in F4F's with mos...

Re: Oxford Dauntless Virgin Islands Pilot Major Christian C

The only Atlantic Wildcat I've seen Aferg is the Easy Model. Recently I bought the Pre-War and O'Hare Wildcats to see if I liked them and decided they were worth the usually inexpensive price. All Plastic of course, landing gear down, but nice I think. This one looks like it has the larger tail unli...

The same plane was produced by Hobby Master. According to the brief description there was a Marine squadron in the Virgin Islands 1943-1944. http://hobbymastercollector.com/HA0160.html Also a Major Christian C Lee was awarded the silver star in the Korean Conflict. He was a Marine Pilot. Chances are...

Re: Corgi Catalogue first half of 2015 up

I imagine the fuselage would be mostly metal with a seam near the bottom of it to make the Mk II hull. Could be wrong but that would be the logical thing to do as there aren't many Mk III Sunderlands that aren't typical white undersides. This would open up more possibilities with color schemes. Few ...

Re: Corgi Catalogue first half of 2015 up

Yeah that would be a blow especially for four engine heavies. I dont see anyone wanting to make any but Corgi. Who is in the 1:72 WWII fighter game now except them. Every company who made mid to higher end models is either belly up, or they don't make them anymore. So somewhat pleased to see two new...

Re: Corgi Catalogue first half of 2015 up

The Do-17 is a model of the one recently raised from the channel and the Defiant is one of the aircraft that intercepted it. The Hurricane is a new tooling done with CAD so I'm hoping it's nicely dtailed and can compete with the larger releases from Hobbymaster. At least as good as a 1:72 HM. There ...

Re: Good diecast aircraft forums?

There are so many pop ups and adds at TDHP it's a little discombobulating. The price of doing business I guess. Pretty much have to go there for up to the minute die cast aircraft news from all the makers though, but I don't hang out there enough to justify paying for adds not to interfere with the ...

Hey D, how are you liking the 1/72 armor? I remember there was a discussion on here a few months back, about its small size and how some liked it and others didn't. I'm still hemming and hawing about it myself... Mostly I like the trucks and support vehicles, but got some tanks too. I wanted vehicl...

In the last six months or so I started buying various 1:72 armor. FOV has two trucks that are new toolings. Looked at the pics and they seem to be a little better than the earlier offerings so I bought them. They are on the way. One has a figure (does he look a little big?) http://www.forcesofvalor....

That is kind of a shame, but you either have to buy a piece of doo doo or an expensive model. There's almost nothing in between is what chaps my hide these days.

Though if you can find a good one and spring for it, I highly recommend getting at least one of the Hobby Master Avengers.

Had to look that up. It's called a David Brown tractor. Pretty cool in 1:1 scale. All they need is the bomb carts and some figures. Already have a Corgi Short Stirling. 8) Yeah one of those tractors should suffice. What's up with the Luftwaffe Bedford truck, is it captured? http://cdn1.bigcommerce.c...

Re: New Oxford 1:72nd Scale Releases Announced

The Do 335's colors look close to the Altaya ones with the brown. Minus the black panel lines of course. Probably good if you don't have the latter, but I managed to get one so I can pass. I would like a BF-108, though would prefer a Euro scheme. Hopefully they will make one later. The tank carrier ...

Yes a bomb cart. Was looking at an old Airfix box and the Oxford tractors look a lot like this one. Is the Oxford tractor WWII? This is really cool. 8)

Wonder when it will be available?

Oxford seems to be the only one who will make aircraft related vehicles. Even if they are 1:76 they seem to work ok. I have a couple and plan on getting this and some others.
