Re: 1/18 Focke-Wulf Triebflügel

"The so-called green stuff is the Hydro span it hasn't been molded yet" Ah, ok Hydro span to the scale desired, then a mold made of that and then a 1:18 piece...got it. :salute: Very cool concept. http://www.luft46.com/ghart/ghtrb-2.jpg Yes! It's a very long and brutal process financially and time-...

Re: 1/18 Focke-Wulf Triebflügel

The mazda engine reference is just an anology, no fuel lines, internal fuel tanks are just on the inside of the wing in the fuselage and are turning with the wings. Here is some diagrams and a website with a lot of technical stuff on how to do it. Focke-Wulf designs were very advanced and a lot of t...

Re: 1/18 Focke-Wulf Triebflügel

I don't see anything to counter the incredible torque there would have been. It looks like a Chinese fireworks spinning whirley gig. You'd need counter rotating devices at best. Wouldn't it be like a helicopter with no tail rotor? What am I missing here? I am no expert but from what I have read abo...

Re: FW 190 as a kit

Has anyone started building their FW-190 kits yet? I’ve been slowly working on mine as time has allowed, but don’t have much to show save for the completed cockpit: https://s17.postimg.org/i4n7xujrj/363_E1_CC0-5569-4090-9_C31-1450_AF63_ACD5.jpg https://s17.postimg.org/8wuzh4pjz/4127_AB4_D-_C59_D-42...

I have been sanding away on the Lippish master but went out to my tank a few days ago and found my La-5 and 1-16 at full size! So I took a few pics for all of you to see how cool it will be! My hope is that after the Lippish other projects like these will be shortly behind! https://farm5.staticflick...

Re: FW 190 as a kit

Now that I've had the kit a few days and have had time to study the directions and parts, here are a few of my thoughts: First, this compares well with the pre-assembled Merit FW-190A on which it is based. Those of you that did not get the prebuilt plane did miss out, but for me at least it will be...

Re: FW 190 as a kit

What is a dying art? The quality of the art keeps getting better. It's the future of the art that's in jeopardy. I posted in 1/32 and smaller some model show pictures from Oct. 21. It's one of the largest in the country. The show and swap was well attended as always. There were times when you almos...

Re: FW 190 as a kit

Looks cool! I am looking for some custom decal makers now to jump in and offer additional sheets. It's nice that it includes the detail decals. I have always had to use very rare and expensive rub on 1/24 scale for my custom fw's. Well guys now it's time to pull out your modeling gloves I would like...

Re: I Counted My 1/18 Figures

Years ago I did an accounting of everything I had and realized I had way way too much, so much that I could never display it all and I reached the conclusion that I had to sell at least some. That was when I sold about 40 or 50 custom figures. I now a make it a point to make all of my figures custom...

Thanks Jon. I remember the woofers display as well, it was very impressive. I'd love to have the space for something like that. 1/18 scale prices?

As I scroll through eBay I see lots of 1/18 scale planes and other stuff all four pretty high prices. There is the occasional good deal or mislabeled item but it seems like the prices of stayed pretty high.
