Re: 1/18th Scale A-10 Advanced Planning Stage Input Needed !

The 1/18 A-10 project is still moving forward. The measurements/scaling has pretty much been done. The next step is producing a section to see how it turns out and then getting a breakdown sequence for all the parts. Staye tuned...... :D

Re: 1/18th Scale A-10 Advanced Planning Stage Input Needed !

It's currently being scaled for 1/18 so that sample parts can be produced and reviewed before production.

Hopefully we'll see something after a few weeks......... .

Re: merit Announcment

Ummmmm did we forget about the F35. Single seat, single engine, multiple exhaust and it comes in a Marine Corp. version. Just saying. Merit said "somewhat modern", F-35 isn't even in service yet lol. It's the project to big to fail after all. The future Jack of All Trades and a Master of none.........

Re: merit Announcment

oh great, we're back to the 60's then, so anything from the F100,F104, 105, 106, or A4. Harrier's only have one engine, just four ducts, so it's still a highly unlikely possibility. bah there goes the high hopes I had for something amazing! Why is the Harrier that unlikely? It fits the profile bett...

Re: merit Announcment

If you go back through Aviatornut's Facebook page, he has some knowledge of what the new 1/18 jet will be. He made the comment that it is a "some what" modern jet. That would rule out the F-22.

Doesn't rule out an F-15 though.

We will see at some point though.

Re: No8 Models - Any demand for modern day jet ordinance/wea

I think this would be awesome. May also need the proper racks made for some of the ordinance to mount accurately.

Air-to-ground ordinance would be good.

AGM-65 Mavericks and GBUs off the top of my mind.

Wait a minute everyone, don't get disappointed just yet. This F-86 may not be the 1/18 jet Merit is going to announce...... Re: Who wants a " Natter " ? Book Wanted !!

Thanks for the breakout of the two Birddog but you kinda made my point. The 10 ft difference in wingspans in 1/18 is a difference of only 6.6" or about 3" per wing... Not really because you still aren't taking into account the wing area difference which results in a thicker wing chord (more resin/p...

Re: Who wants a " Natter " ?

But remember the financial backer is not Santa Claus and yes pound for pound, inch for inch the B-25 and the A10 stack up about the same unless you consider making all the ordnance for the A10 or a detailed interior of the B-25. Actually, the A-10 is only bigger in one area, the length by about 5 i...

Re: Who wants a " Natter " ?

You guys are funny  In all seriousness Im sure that you guys who want an A-10 will get one but you must consider what you are really asking for. This is like us WWII guys asking him to make us a B-25 or Ju-88 not to mention the ordinance. We all saw what went into the Ho229 being made and this...

Re: Who wants a " Natter " ?

Im very biased as I have no interest in the A-10 at all but it does seem logical to tackle a smaller project such as this before starting such a massive and time consuming project, especially coming off of the King Tiger builds.. The Natter can wait this time...........the A-10 has waited long enou...

Re: Merit at 2013 New York Toy Fair

Hate to say it but I doubt we will see the Su-27 (J-11) in 1/18 scale. If they are balking at doing an A-10 or F-4 in 1/18 scale because of size and cost, the Su-27 is a pipe dream. I would bet the new jet is something along the lines of an A-4, F-5, or maybe a Harrier.

Hope that Merit will at least confirm that a jet is coming even if they aren't ready to tell what it is.
