Re: Trumpeter To Enter 1:18 Scale
Just saw the 1:32 A-4M Skyhawk from VMA-214 (BlackSheep Squadron). Thinking if there was a jet model that could be built in 1:18 scale the A-4 would be it.

Re: 1/18 buildings: Stone house.
Flyboy that is pure artwork. I'd really like to see how the molds for the brick were made. I've got pieces of plastic, wood and everything else scattered across my work bench in my failed attempts at making them. Any before/after picks of how you sculpted the foam and made the molds would really be ...

Grunt1 that's just cool! Gotta say it's made me go in the backyard twice already and think about what I can put together. Great work!

And for those needin' a pickup fix...
Here are two pickups that were found in a used toy store. The first (desert) pickup was actually pink with a really bad looking hood scoop. I simply gutted the chassis, covered the scoop and mounted it on an R/C 4-wheeler. Note - this is the same 4-wheeler thats currently being sold both at Walmart ...

Re: PTE WIP Group Pic
Ok, so what prompted this? Ease of use. Why? Because I found that most of the weapons and/or hands were broken before I had a chance to give 'em to my son. While nice and detailed, in some of the figures they're simply not really meant to be played with and so I tried to remedy that by adding/fixing...

I know, PTE figures get a bad wrap but at the end of the day if they're gonna be played with you can't find anything better. Basically they're malleable and if one figure is gonna do a bunch of things then why not just make the PTE figure a little better? Taking the "cool" stuff from other manufactu...

Re: Home Depot Finds
Snake-man I just dropped off my son at school. Just (re)-read your message and man that's what it's all about. With regard to the vehicles/figures, I do the same with 1:6 and having family that's worn uniforms since before the Alamo it's not just the "playin" anymore but now the questions he's askin...

Re: Home Depot Finds
First again thanks for all the kind words. And Jim, many thanks for your help (and patience) figurin' out how to even make this post possible. Again, before I continue - these were built as TOYS for a then 6-7 year old. So detail (example - using a prachute for side bag etc) was done because like th...

First thanks for all the kind words. While I've been a member for years, this is the first time I've ever posted pics of anything. And while my son is pretty careful with 'em, they really are starting to take a beating. Especially when his friends come over and start chasing each other around the ho...

First, these were built as TOYS for my then 5-yr old and so the detail (and modex numbers) are off as is the scale. They've been handled a lot as well and after finding them on the floor a lot more than I'd like recently I figured I'd take some pictures of 'em before they end up in beyond repair. Ok...

Mike I was prepared to write a cute little soliloquy in response to your earlier thoughts. Instead I'll just say simply - "Thanks". In fact I noticed I was noddin' as I was typing.

Where are the FOV products sold currently? It was my understanding that it was first TRU and now Target. Is this correct and are there other stores that have them?

Re: Installing electric motors on 1:18 aircraft
That's interesting that you did the 109. For all the aircraft that I worked on the results weren't perfect (or always pretty) and my technique was the simply break out the dremel and cut the cowling heads off along a panel line and that seemed to work just fine. Replace the spinners and props and ne...

Re: Installing electric motors on 1:18 aircraft
Wow, that's some pretty impressive work. Most of mine have been 1:18 aircraft with a simple electric motor and battery. It started with a 1:32 corsair that I did a while back. I was sitting with my then 6-year old son and he mentioned twice how it would be "cool" if the motor worked. And so with tha...

Installing electric motors on 1:18 aircraft
Going through some of my 1:18 aircraft and replacing the batteries on the motors I installed on some of them. Just wondering, how popular is the practice of installing electric motors? Has much been written on this topic?

Does anyone already have an SU-27 and can give a critique as to it's quality? I have an F-18 and it still sits in the attic as I wasn't very pleased with the quality. My intention is to build it into something else but just haven't gotten to it.

Great trade with trigger1 as well. Not only did he send me the Tank (an R/C Panzer IV) in a timely manner, he sent it before I paid for the delivery! Look forward to doing business with Bryan again!

Hey guys, Well, I've gotta believe after a day or so somebody's gotta be askin' - "Ok, great story, but where's this TPA guy?". Truth be told, I couldn't comment. Why? Well, um, me Mr. Great Transaction guy owed another member some money. Ok, ok, not a lot of money ($14) but my AMEX card on my Paypa...
