Re: video: F-35 cannon test

Find this kind of ironic. After some recent tests, it was shown to be no where near as maneuverable as the F-16 it was going up against. Supporters of the F-35 countered that it would never get into a dogfighting situation, that its stealth and missiles would get the job done. So, if that's the case...

Re: Great Deal on Hobby Master Harvard

Aferg, I don't have the CF-18 Tiger meet. Only have a few Gemini Aces, and Witty's, and know that they do get trashed a little bit, especially the Witty's. But WW did give us some aircraft that were pretty decent, and a good option. Couple of Gemini Aces Phantoms, a RAF version, and a Royal Navy ver...

Actually have this one already, and it's a good little model.

Perfect for a Canadian theme, and for only $19, a great deal.

Re: NOBODY posted about a brand new HM 1/72 Tomcat ?

Found out yesterday, on an email from Pete's. Surprised to say the least, and the Pub was alight with the news. Some good, some bad. HM has been doing a lot of the modern USN aircraft lately, with the Hawkeye, Vigilante, Prowler etc. So the Tomcat seems like a logical choice, but completely un...

NOBODY posted about a brand new HM 1/72 Tomcat ?

Big news, in the 1/32 and smaller scale.

Hard to believe that there is no news of this at all on here. :?:

Re: First pic of AF-1 Hawkeye

Yeah, it is a big screw up, very noticeable { once pointed out }, and will affect sales. But nobody picked it up, partly because how many images of the top of this particular radar dish are there ? Like everybody else, just assumed the lettering was supposed to be there. Thought it was a little stra...

Re: Any Scoop on the new 1/18th Scale Harrier...?

Early days, but if there is price gouging going on, I will pass. Not going to spend $300US on this. Canadian dollar is 20+ % down the last couple of years, and factor in shipping, easily over $400CDN. And that is before potential Customs charges. No way I am spending that amount on a model that has ...

Re: Any Scoop on the new 1/18th Scale Harrier...?

For something that is supposed to be released in a month, was hoping for some better pics, showing features, details, weapons etc. Think it will be good, but need to see some pics of the actual production model. We all know how prototypes and production can vary greatly, so reserving judgment till t...

Didn't realize they were still producing any more Eagles on the production lines ? Or is this just an upgraded Strike Eagle, that has already been produced. who's your favorite Canadian retailer, Snake? Merritec. Scott runs it, and will give you great service. For a Canadian collector, makes much more sense going through him, than other US retailers. Save a bit on shipping as well, compared to US and Hong Kong. You want a new HM, CW etc, give him a sho...

Pretty good job, for sure.

Re: Has Dragon released any new 1/35 armour ?

Thanks CplSlade, That is what I figured. :( I do miss quality larger scale armour, and seems to be on hold, at least for now. Quick question. Are you saying that Dragon had kit builders doing these pre assembled models from their line of unassembled kits? Think this would be very labour intensive, a...

Re: EA-6B Prowler retired

Well, it had a good and sucessful run of 45 years.

Being replaced by the F-18 Growler, so not like the USN is losing the electronic warfare capability.

Always a shame to see an aircraft that has flown for many decades being retired, but the Prowler had a good run.

Re: F-35 vs F-16 dogfight

Well, seeing as the F-35 is a done deal, one way or another, guess the US and many other countries are stuck with it.

Time will tell how "sucessful" it is, but it does seem over priced, and under performing.

Too big to fail, at this stage.

Has Dragon released any new 1/35 armour ?

Don't think that Dragon has released any new armour in 1/35 for a few years now. Shame, as think their line was really great, although limited. With FoV apparently on life support, and given that their later armour releases were not up to the same standard as their earlier stuff, seems like options ...

2nd release is a JSDF scheme and third is French AF scheme. No new US schemes announced yet, though there will be several eventually. Well, those don't interest me much either, but I do applaud HM for giving international collectors these options. I can wait until a decent USN scheme is done, and i...
