Re: Dremel questions
1) Don't get a Dremel. Get a Craftsman Rotary Tool... They own Dremel, and it's basically the same thing, and costs less. 2) Get variable speed... Single speed ones are difficult to control. You'll want one with a sliding switch and multiple speeds. 3) I recommend a flex-shaft for intricate work. Yo...

Re: UV light activated "laser" Glue
WM sells the actual stuff IIRC but basically yeah it does work... Does it work like a miracle? Eh... A lot of the tricks to it are layering it for strength, so like if you hacked a figure's leg in half and tried gluing it with this, it wouldn't work great. I'd definitely rough up any surface so it h...

Re: Anyone/or anything interesting at SDCC 2016?
Depends on what one finds interesting I guess... To best of my knowledge nothing 1/18 military world going on at the show, but I'm not there, just have people covering it for my site who are. They're not really looking for that stuff either though. Hiya Toys displayed their 1/18 Aliens APC, painted/...

Anyone Buying 1/6 Dragon Figures (WW2)
Title basically says it all... Finally getting into a remodel of the closet, which needs cleaned out, and I found all my Dragon figure's boxes. I only have a few, an MG34 team, a US Rifleman and Sergeant, a German in a trench coat... That's basically it. I may have a 21st Cent Harley here too I'd th...

Re: 3D printing
3D drawing is a pretty tough skill to learn... You may want to browse shapeways and see what you can come across, but there's a ton of "art" to making something organic like that I'm afraid. It seems making something technical is a touch easier... I've fiddled with Google Sketchup to do some stuff o...

Except for all the Marines and Power Loader that are currently shipping you mean? :? Only thing they ever said they were working on, and didn't put out, was the Russian infantry... Given the lack of warmth they got to the Germans, I'm not shocked that they backed off. That said, they've not confirme...

Re: Nick_Karatzides has been removed
Was this the guy that did the 3D prints and if you argued with him at all he fought you tooth and nail? Like telling him the print lines can be removed with chemicals (Smooth-On sells them... they work, don't listen to him)?
How did I miss this? I need links, this honestly makes me laugh.

I can't speak for them, but horses are a biggie for them obviously... On the issue of wagons, "playsets" and the like, I think there's a wish/hope, however the stagecoach (which was a Dusty Trails proto), is a hoped for stretch goal, and a WWWAAAAYYYYY stretch goal... IE: if they get enough financia...

New 1/18 "Western" Line - Kickstarter
A Kickstarter campaign is going to be launched soon-ish. This was something I kinda knew of happening for some months, but it was officially announced/teased at Joe Con. I figured though it's something you guys MAY want to back with your wallets, as it's a historical line very in line with Boss Figh...

Re: Unimax Ages of Action
They hit that point where prices were going up and people weren't buying into things as much, and it hurt them. Sucks, but it's ironic that now you see things like the Vitruvian HACKS figures coming in and getting support enough to have it become a reality. Go figure. That's where the action figure ...

Re: 1/18 German Tanker ,Pre production . Ebay
The basic figure pops apart easily enough for casting... Don't need anything like that prototype. Honestly that probably has far more fragile/less sturdy posts by looking at it. Much further ahead, if you were inclined to cast it, to use the basic figure for it if you have one. Then again, what you ...

Incredible stuff man. I'll probably cast (at some point) the .30 and .50 for the scout car, as well as seat cushions out of the Quad 50... It's the only one I have to donate to the cause. :) That's really imperssive work though. The trailer really kicks it up too. I have the PTE trailer... may sneak...

Grunt, would it be possible to make a "fusable" rear end to a Halftrack? Like you print out the rear, and just glue up to the existing 21st HT? It's a print I'd be kinda into because I think it'd be a bit more affordable to go that route (for the po folks in the house) maybe? If you were looking for...

Thanks for that tip Dig. 5 Below is like fly dirt here. Time to hit 'em up again. They got GOOD Star Wars figures in, in droves, at one point. I was going to every single one clearing them out.
Yeah, I'm that guy.
But c'mon! Imp Navy Troopers, Gammie Guards... I went nuts.

One thing is true, these new 1/18 scale models and companies are more 2-3x more expensive than they were 8 years ago, and there really is no reason they should be and production costs have lowered. These models could and should be based off of new contracts.... Eh, it was just something I caught, e...

Uh, the article itself is 11 f'n years old... are you guys seriously freaking out about this? Not sure who wrote it, but the title line alone is such sensationalist tripe to its target audience (IE: guys who build model planes) that it's laughable. Nobody's coming to steal your planes today guys. :P
