Re: Chap Mei C-130 Photo Review

i was thinking: i bet you could put a 1/18 Mutt inside this thing. You'd have to take the seats out and it wouldn't be able to go in and out the back ramp, but i think the cargo area is big enough to hold one....just like a real C-130. Kinda cool if it can. I don't have any mutts or i'd try it. Yes...

Re: PTE Recons

i've never been able to find a true wwii era shaped raft. Back then, rubber rafts were oval shaped. The more modern shape is oval at the front but has a cut out at the back where the motor goes, giving an overall sort of U shape it. No rafts back in wwii had that shape. So you can either not worry ...

Re: PTE Recons

Thanks for the info Parrish. I was thinking about posting a separate topic relating to these rafts. I actually saw an image of one with some WWII German soldiers (from a model box I believe). The raft wasn't quite the same; more along the old GI Joe blow-up variety, but I think it demonstrated how ...

Re: PTE Recons

On a side note, I picked up the black raft set yesterday (just for the raft). I'm not sure what I'll do with it yet, but it make for a nice night raid. Those little CRRC-type boats go back to WWII I think (e.g. Marine raider units) and current iterations are used by lots of spec ops forces. I think...

Re: HELMET/GUN STRAP HELP

Hey, I need to know what I should use for gun and helmet straps. I think someone once said something about cutting strips of toothpaste tubes and then painting them for straps. How do I make buckles? And how do I realistically attach the straps to the gun without just gluing it on? Thanks, AJ I've ...

interesting. i still find it very hard to believe that until now, the 'true' colour has not been known. With all the thousands of eye witnesses, on both sides, who would have seen carmel coloured zeros, how is it possible that for 60 plus years, everyone has been of the opinion they were a light gr...

Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION

According to http://www.talesofthecat.com/ and somewhat implied by the "our" terminology from Merit's site (http://www.merit-intl.com/merit/main.html), Merit is the actual manufacturer for the SBD. Now maybe they still collaborated with Admiral or BBI or somebody else, but apparently they are produc...

Wow - that's the first real 1/18 news in a long time (outside of ph's efforts of course : ) !!! I think it's a great choice - I was just thinking the other day that the best selling choices left in 1/18 WWII aircraft would be either the Dauntless or the Wildcat (or maybe a Spitfire reboot). I didn't realize that FSK also has an AN-2: http://shop.flyingstyrokit.com/civil-aircrafts/11-antonov-an-2.html Looks to be very close to 1:18. Re: 1/18 160th Nightstalker helicopter - Testing the market

I've gotta say that I agree with the line of thinking Birddog suggested above. In my mind I've always figured the higher prices on the MH-60 and the F-16 was BBI's way of testing the water to see if the market would support those kind of prices. Because if they made a brand-new heli or jet of compar...
