There aren't a whole lot of alternatives. Japanese trucks from the 70s-90s would be ideal but Land Rovers are occasionally used in some places. Until someone makes Japanese pickups in 1:18 a Land Rover might be a good alternative depending on the location. They were certainly used in Somalia. Here's...

This was discussed not too long ago. Get a 1:18 scale older model Land Rover. Older Land Rovers are fairly common in the 3rd world. A company called Eagle Collectibles made some in 1:18 scale. Here's the previous thread: viewtopic.php?t=16530

My guess is it's just old stock. I've seen some 1:18 PTE tanks at one BL that have been there for nearly 2 years.

thats up in the air since the product list was basically empty except for a few older 21c 1/6 uniform sets and some dukes of hazard cars. :?: Could you say what the 1/6 uniform sets were? There are a couple that were released right before they quit making the carded uniform sets that I would like t...

I don't think heat would be the issue. My guess would be that they were painted with improperly mixed or low grade paint. I'm not sure what would be a good solution. I did a Google search for ways to cure tacky paint without much luck.

Did anyone else notice the bit at the end of that article where the writer felt that fewer toys in Walmart was a good thing? Even though I'm not a fan of some of Walmart's business practices I'm not a Walmart hater either. I shop there regularly and I will continue to do so. I'm not gonna defend the...

Has anyone tried using 1:16 decals? I'm curious if they would be noticibly too big. There are a number of 1:16 armor decal sheets available and Verlinden made some 1:16 American and German uniform insignia sets. Peddinghaus made some 1:18 vehicle decals and a Waffen SS uniform insignia set but they ...

Re: Xd still hanging around WM

This is why the thread is as important as ever - still some great finds happening. Not sure what the rush to cut this loose was. I was thinking the same thing. I suspect that more people are finding these than are actually reporting their finds. For the most part it's only figures being found but a...

They're still showing up here as well. I've bought 27 figures over the past few days. These are being found in a store that never had these particular figures when they were initially released. I'm not sure of the exact number but I've probably picked up about 60 figures since they went on sale for ...

I've never seen any type of factory markings but most of their 1:6 weapons also had "21st Century Toys" printed on the left side of the receiver or stock. That is a "feature" that has always ticked me off. You either have to pose a figure so that it doesn't show or remove the logo and repaint the we...

...Also back in the 70's when Aurora sold off the vast majority of its injection molds all who bought them modified them. Removing the raised molded insignia for instance was a modification of the mold not the machines as their own machines were used not Aurora's... I understand that. I was just po...

What the? Are they spying on us? I copy pasted the list from that exact page at 04:00 CDT today. I think they're probably monitoring this forum. The preorder page at The Toy Federation still lists "Working Suspension" as a feature: http://www.thetoyfederation.com/product.php?productid=20474&cat=0&p...

This could turn out to be both a good and a bad thing. When retooling a mold things can be fixed or improved but sometimes the improvements are dubious at best. Several years ago Monogram purchased many of the kit molds from Aurora when Aurora went out of business. On some of those kits they made so...

The $1 XD figures are still showing up. I bought 10 more last night. They also put out some DAK figures this time. I got all the ETO figures but I had to leave 10 DAK figures on the shelf as I was running a bit short of cash. If they're still there next week I'll probably pick them up then. Keep che...

I haven't been to one in years (at least 10) but back when I used to go they had lots of stuff but it was generally just the current products being produced by the leading model manufacturers at the time. Smaller independent shops generally had more interesting things. Perhaps they've changed but be...

He's never gonna sell at the price he's asking. How many people actually need everything he has listed? If he would break the collection up into smaller lots he would probably do quite well though.

I went back to the McDonough, GA WM again tonight and scored 10 more of the figures from the last release. Do these figures come 10 to a case? They were in the same place mentioned previously and they were still $1 each. I don't know how much longer this will last but I'm gonna keep checking.

Went to the McDonough, GA WM yesterday. I found 10 of the figures from the last release. I got 4 machinegunners, 3 snipers and 3 assault gunners. Most of the 1/18 pickups that are available seem to either be old 30s-60s American vehicles or full size modern American trucks. I checked eBay and didn't see a single Toyota pickup. An older model Land Rover might be a good choice. Take a look at this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/Land-Rover-Serie-3-109...
