Re: Super Cobra - Snake - how rare/value
Thanks to you all for the advice. I've decided to pass on this Super Cobra, as the general opinion is that it's too expensive and there will be others in the future. I'll direct the funds towards a few more WW2 fighters instead. Also with some of the low rates you were able to pay for the helos make...

Super Cobra - Snake - how rare/value
I've been offered a Snake Super Cobra for approx $350 but am not sure if this was a limited or low production model. so would like advice as to if this a fair price to pay? It's still in the box which is the red flame type. I've concentrated on fixed wing so far, so if anything has been mentioned pr...

Just bought a BBI one last week, and that's got the name on one side only.

Never dealt with them, but the website shows the green version in stock and they do worldwide mail order.
(they've also got the B25, Mosquito and ME110)
Hope this helps

This sir, is absolutely amazing.
You are a true master craftsman.
I know many others have stated it before, so all I can do is echo their comments.
Best regards from the U.K.

trex0770; At least your wife raises her own eyebrows...My wife raises mine using hot pins at the mere mention of a 1/18 aircraft. gouchy ; lying to your wife...How very dare you!!!!! There seems to be a common theme - Excellent model aircraft collections in large scale = keep wife under need-to-know...

Ability to afford is one thing - I can very easily convince myself that the requirement is real, and the spend is justified. However, when I conduct a risk analysis of the consequences following Mrs 'Mad Sam' discovering how much I paid, I realise the stark truth is that the 'confirm bid' button wil...

Re: bbi Golden Dragon Hornet colors
Black Lion VF-213 Thanks for the advice. The scheme I'm doing has red/white verticals and I'll only be post shading the panel lines to give some definition, so no heavy weathering on this one. Once I've got the aircraft painted, I'll have to find time to make a replacement for the missing centre lin...

Re: bbi Golden Dragon Hornet colors
I just typed in the FS numbers you quoted and that has given me the answer. Lifecolor have the colors named in their range and the tone appear correct. My local hobby shop only has the Tamiya and Humbrol ranges, and all theirs seemed too dark. You describe the same scheme as on the decal sheet i've ...

Re: bbi Golden Dragon Hornet colors
Yes, make that 499. Criminal it sure is, also made for one fairly abusive Brit when I found what I nearly had... Originally I thought I was going to uncover another Golden Dragon, wasn't expecting they'd used a Red Devil (this is the second time one has got away from me.) Even though I carefully cle...

bbi Golden Dragon Hornet colors
Can anybody please advise what are the best paint matches to the scheme used by bbi on the Golden Dragons Hornet? I recently purchased a Hornet which had been repainted (badly) into an aggressor scheme. (having removed the poorly applied paint, i found it started life as a Red Devil) I'd like to get...

Re: starting to have to make hard choices..
As we're waiting for builders to finish our new property, currently all my collection except 2 x 1/18 a/c is in storage. Our new house is going to be ready in April and will have a model room, but I know I've already got way too many in various scales to display in one go, so I'll have to rotate wha...

Re: Badcat's 1/18 Wish List for 2011
I agree with Snake. The F4 is probably the number one contender. In addition to 'tons of USN and USAF schemes' - there are about a dozen other Air Forces across the world who've had the type in service. (and that includes the jolly old R.A.F.) His other point is also valid - The aircraft has a uniqu...

Never mind all that rare jet power on offer, There must be somebody tempted at the thought of adding a Loose JU87 Zero in green to their collection.

Re: Instant 1/18 Air Force on Ebay
Compared to what I usually have to pay for 1/18, and considering what's on offer, this is small change. Now if I could just sort the 'collecting from Omaha' part out I'd give it a go for sure. As it is, I can just imagine the conversation.... Me - "I'm just going out to collect some models" Wife - "...

Thanks for that. Spent yesterday putting nearly everything into storage for about six months. as we just sold our house and the new one won't be completed untill then. Bad news is having to live with in-laws until it's ready and i've only found room to display a couple of aircraft. (Went for Galland...

Re: New Members Introduce Yourselves!
Hello From damp and foggy England! New on here, so I thought i'd put up a quick note - I've been interested in aircraft and modelling since I was about six when my dad built me an Airfix B24 (He flew combat missions as a flight engineer on RAF Libs during WW2) I live in the South-West of England clo...
