I'm sure it will look just like the real thing, as seen on the sci-fi airshow website!

Re: New Members Introduce Yourselves!

Hi there.
Welcome from the UK.

I've got the same type of problem, I had to put everything into storage last November, and all I've bought since has just gone straight in there without being opened. In the next few weeks though, we should all have a new home....

All the best.

Indeed, I was in the middle of typing just such a response until I realised that had I continued, there would be be a point where I would have answered every question ever asked...or not........

Started crying and went for the short answer instead.

Re: Jnewboy Customs ~ 1/18 Me-109F-2 ~ Operation Barbarossa

Personally I generally prefer the Battle of Britain or late war defence of the Reich schemes on German fighters, but against that, I've got to say this is a really nice looking scheme which you have done full justice to, and I think its turned out as one of your best works. (well that's my opinion) ...

If anyone did have one spare, you'd have received a parcel in the post earlier today, opened it and found a crystal ball with a note saying "Here's the spare one you're going to ask for"...or something like that......too confusing...

I look at the overall price for model and Postage and decide to buy or not based on that figure, not as two seperate values. At the end of the day, It's MY collection, and if I want something that I can't source over here, then I make the decision to buy at the rates offered and that doesn't cause m...

Like your paint job on the Dora 9

I agree on a FW190 Conversion, Hope we see one, I would certainly go for that, there are several schemes I'd like to do.

mikeg : Those outdoor shots of your collection are great!

I've now got about the same quantity of 1/18 planes, but looking at the models you have there are about 20 of yours that I still don't have, so your pictures are like a photographic check list of what i've still got to get!

All the best!

Threetoughtrucks - "If I like it I buy it" There's my problem - I LIKE far too much! I can't just stick to one thing, tried going for just 1/18 vehicles, but always seem to get side-tracked. I went to an electrical store and there was a 1/16 RC Tiger 1 looking like it needed a home, so that got into...

Re: Poll: the future of 1/18 and prices

Never had a '1/18 Golden era' over here, so for me the current rates are pretty much static, the only difference I can remember was that when news was coming out that 21st had gone bang, there were a couple of P51 versions on Amazon which had their prices increased overnight. I recently paid just un...

If you want Japanese fighters, then yes, a Ki-84 Frank would be excellent, or the Ki-61 Tony, if it's twin prop, for me - why not go all the way to B-25 or B26 or the Mosquito.....

If any of you guys are desperate for the Phantom, there's a BBI 1/32 F4J on E-bay UK (Not mine or anything to do with me) # 250892682941 - it probably works out about $220 or offers, plus postage

All I have to do is mention visiting air or military museums and my wife starts having panic attacks, but luckily for me, our twins love going, so she has to endure for their sake! Yes, already knew about that one, it's been on there for a couple of weeks, but after my experience with the first shop, once I found the second shop had one and they were prepared to sell it, the extra tenner was worth it just to have the model in my collection. Two weeks ago I went into a hobby shop looking for 1/48 model kits, but as I was leaving the shop, I noticed a window display with various scale die-cast aircraft, one of which was the 1/18 Starfighter...I have never seen 1/18 in any regular model shop over here before, and it was the only item on d...

Re: bbi 1/18 WWII Luftwaffe Bf-109 preview

The yellow nose was a tactical fighter marking seen on all fronts. So the first issue BBI Bf109 in JG53 desert scheme is an example of the yellow lower cowl applied together with the white fuselage band. This is because as already stated, the white fuselage band was the standard theatre marking for ...

Re: bbi 1/18 WWII Luftwaffe Bf-109 preview

I think it was a tactical identification marking which was applied to various German front line aircraft types in an effort to provide rapid identification of friendly aircraft to flak and other ground units, probably used until the Luftwaffe was forced onto the defensive. (Same thing can be seen on...

I wonder if the spinner is made from the front of the drop tank, it seems to have the same profile, and there doesn't appear to be one in the box.

Re: Is anyone else "addicted" to collecting?

Actually now it's mentioned I remember the Hubertank was released while I was out of the country on holiday, and when I got back they had already gone price-mad on E-Bay so I passed on that one. Too many others to collect without blowing a small fortune on one small model. The duplicate early Dragon...
