Re: Dragon 1/6 tank

Hello there Threetoughtrucks! As I can't get You-tube on my system - I wonder if you know what type of tank destroyer is going to be released? and is this in another Dragon budget range as well as their Orange boxes? The price on the Sherman looks good, but I'm sure it'll get whacked up in price som...

Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION

DITTO on the happy.

It will make a great addition to the collection.
A Wildcat to provide escort would be nice....
and I would still like one day to see an FW190A version done in 1/18.....
Then there's the Hurricane, P51B, Ki-84, Ki-61...........

Re: "Vicky" and "Checkers" in formation!

You have a great couple of schemes. They look very good together.

All I've got so far is the original spotcat. I haven't even got round to tracking down a Black Knight, never mind going for repaints.

Are you going to add any more to your collection?

Re: Dragon 1/6 tank

Found this on e-bay. Needed oxygen when I saw the price. item 140622060254 I'm sorry I can't post link. I got the pre-built Dragon desert raider jeep this weekend. My wife spotted it in the window of the model store we were visiting and suggested I might like to buy it....I was worried for a second,...

LOL

I think the potato salad's safe - it looks like he missed the wire (probably the no flaps thing!) - so he's on a go-round!

Probably not, but then again the real ones don't as a rule land on picnic tables.

This is an excellent looking model. I love the choice of scheme.

Re: Side projects

Really like your U-boat, I've got one built and undercoated, but it went back in the box as I went onto other stuff. I do have the Revell 1/72 Gato class built and complete. it's about 4ft long and it actually dwarfs the German sub. When I get everything out of storage I'll post pictures of it. When...

Re: Dragon 1/6 tank

Ah yes, but that's 3 times bigger in 3 dimensions.
1/18 Sherman approx 6" x 6" x 13" = 468 cubic inches
1/6 Sherman approx 38" x 18" x 18" = 12312 cubic inches
should be about 3x3x3 in volume.............

Re: Dragon 1/6 tank

If I can get it through the door, it's going in the collection.

And in 1/6, the model should be in the region of 3ft 2" long x 18" high and wide.

So that's me in the queue too.

Threetoughtrucks

Thanks for that advice, it's just excellent, I don't think I'd have ever considered toxic fumes as part of my decision-to-buy process!!

I'll wait and see what experience others have who go ahead and buy it.

Cheers

Re: Dragon 1/6 tank

Threetoughtrucks - Sorry, $75 (dollars) is the drop in price. I'm finding them on sale now for about $275 - $280 which although may seem expensive, isn't bad for over here when compared with the SAS desert raider Jeep going for the $150 mark. I'd love to go for the pre-built panzer but so far I've o...

Re: 1:18 Boxes

At first I was thinking that in future I would keep all the boxes no matter how much of a problem they may present when the model is out on display, because when I put all my collection in storage at the end of last year, it was a real pain finding room for the aircraft I'd bought without boxes, the...

Re: Dragon 1/6 tank

I've been holding off on the the 1/6 Panzer II kit and it's started lowering in price at various outlets, gone down by equivelent of $75 in the last week or so, so now I've got to gamble if the price is going to go lower, against missing the end of the drop and watching the price go up again as they...

Re: 1:72 Dragon Armor and Hobby Master Vehicles?

paulmerton Purely because of the prices shooting up, I left Dragon armour alone for ages, but I've recently been buying at more reasonable rates some of the ones I didn't go for originally. It just takes patience, and watching the special offer/clearance shelves in the local hobby shops. They seem t...

Re: 1:18 Spitfire Markings Question

At the moment my Spitfire is in storage, so I can't check, but from your photograph there are possibly no serial numbers on the model? If that's the case, your roundels could make it accurate for DW-K X4102 which was written off following a crash landing after combat with 109s on August 24th 1940. T...

Re: 1:18 Spitfire Markings Question

Here's the info I've found: The underwing roundel (or lack of it) is due to when the markings were actually introduced. The transition from black/white undersides to all sky was effective June 6th 1940 for service aircraft, and June 11th for new production aircraft, but underwing roundels weren't in...

Re: Dragon 1/6 tank

Thanks Threetoughtrucks I only recently dropped into the delights of 1/6 vehicles thanks to your enthusiasm on the subject on this site, and pickelhaube being willing to ship Stuarts across the pond. Re: Dragon 1/6 tank

Did anyone get the Fuyuan/Vantex 1/6 Shermans or M36 TD? I know these are designed as RC versions, but the basics all seemed to be there to use as a display model and I wondered how they would compare on detail and price against the Dragon pure model kit version. (I also read that Fuyuan were going ...

Re: RC tank---27 MHz or 49 MHz?

They're just different frequencies.

It doesn't matter which you have if you're only running one item, but if you plan to use two, then best to get one on each frequency or you'll get cross-channel interference with one controller trying to control both items.

Hope this helps.

OMG!

Just received two 1/6 Stuarts from pickelhaube.

He went to the trouble of hunting out two in my preffered colour scemes, and got them delivered here with no fuss.
