Voted for the Bronco. But what about a MiG-21?

Re: Choose The Next WW2 Full Build

My top favorites are the He 162 and Do 335, with the Natter and P-39 very close second; in the end, I voted for the He 162 just to keep its chances intact, but I would be very happy with any of the four aforementioned aircraft. I don't care too much for the Lippisch P.13a - while technically interes...

Re: 1/18 Hind Buyer's Feedback forum.

Well, I'm all for accuracy, so if it's not too much trouble, I'd go for (4), correct tires and hubs in resin (possibly as separate pieces to make painting easier). However, I do understand that this adds to your workload, so I'm certainly not going to complain if you decide to use any pre-made wheels.

Re: What Is the Most Wanted Aircraft Project ?

Just an alphabetic list of things that I would be interested in, aren't too big to be impractical, and are significant enough to interest at least a few more people - the Natter would probably be the easiest subject to execute: Arado Ar 234 Blitz Bachem Ba 349 Natter Bell P-39 Airacobra & P-63 Kingc...

Re: 1/18th Scale Mi-24 Hind Will Be a Reality ! !! Pics !!

I've also just made the full pre-payment - $300 for a 1/18 scale Mi-24 is a steal! I've got Matthew's Ho 229 kit, and that's a wonderful piece of work; I have absolutely no doubt the Mi-24 will be fantastic.

Re: My FW-TA 183 Build

I am somewhat unpleasantly surprised by some of the reactions to my previous post. First, I've always been unanimous in my praise for Pizzaguy's work on this model. From the very beginning, I've said I was very much looking forward to getting at least one full kit, and there's nothing that has chang...

Re: My FW-TA 183 Build

Mind me for asking, but: is it possible one of the wings is slightly warped? In the front views, the wings don't look symmetrical, the trailing edge of the right wing (left in frontal view) seems to be lower... Or is it just the camera angle?

Re: My FW-TA 183 Build

I agree withe PH - it's close, but the sliding hood is a little too flat. In fact, the canopy reaches its highest point just behind the windscreen - it first goes up a little further, before curving down. So, if you raise the roof behind the windscreen just a bit, and then curve it down towards the ...

Re: My FW-TA 183 Build

I'm sorry to say, yes, the canopy is a bit oversize - I think I already commented on that some time ago; it's about a quarter too tall. The central armor glass of the wind screen should be at the same angle as the nose, it should be a flowing line. Also, the quarter panes should be flat, not slightl...

I'd be in for both a Me 163 and Do 335. And has anyone ever thought of doing a He 162 or Ar 234? And I'd certainly also be most interested in a Ba 349.

Re: COMIC CON 2014

Not quite. The wing leading edge and LERX are indeed a bit on the thick side, but that's not the main issue. When you look at a frontal view of an AV-8B, you'll see that the wing leading edge has greater anhedral along its inner half, between the fuselage and the small wing fence. Also, in side view...

Re: COMIC CON 2014

Yeah, fixing the LERX shouldn't be too much work, but remodelling the leading edge looks more complicated, as that's related to a change in wing profile - but it's certainly doable if it doesn't get corrected. And the other issues, like the lack of vortex generators shouldn't be too much of an issue...

Best,
