Re: Tweeking Merit Tiger1

Today I added the Filter. It blends the tone of the colors a bit more and really makes it pop. The filter I used was made by MIG products, P242, “Tan for Tri-Tone Camo”. http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/9510/t09v.jpg [URL=http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/513/t10y.jpg/] http://img513.imageshack...

Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION

The Coral Sea 2-S-12 will have the correct single .30 cal.
I am told the Midway SBD will have the twin .30 Cal.

Re: Tweeking Merit Tiger1

Thanks Grunt 1...yes the book from Jentz & Doyle "Germany's Tiger Tanks D.W. to Tiger I" has been indispensable for me over the years…a must have if you want an accurate Tiger I…also this link is extremely helpful in detailing. http://tiger1.info/vehicle.html

HK 1/32 B-25

Per the Great Models website:
"HK Models 1/32 B-25J Mitchell Glass Nose. It will be shipping in the US around March 20th. We are expecting the B-25J Gun Nose version two months later, and "hopefully" the 1/32 B-17F/G (with option for an in-field upgrade of the gun nose) coming this summer 2012"

Re: Hetzer!

The 1/16 Hetzer is 15.28" long
A 1/18 FOV Bravo Tiger 1 is 14" long
Like Aferguson said..it would look a bit worse than in tman's pics
It would look plain goofy
it would not look right next to a 1/18 Tiger or a 1/18 Panther

No it would not look right next to a 1/18 Tiger
(but it will look very nice next to all my 1/16 armor and support vehicles)

Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION

sort of...the Tiger and T34 were RC models from Trumpeter WSN and made much like the 21st century tanks of long ago (trust me I know... cutting off the coupla of the Merit Tiger1 to add a working one took awhile...it was very thick plastic) The SBD will be more like the USS Hornet CV-8 - Doolittle R...

True, but Merit seems to be able to somehow acquire these Trumpeter/WSN tanks as gutted shells…might happen…interesting to see what’s next in 1/16 armor from Merit…Jim??????

Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION

The Rep. I spoke with said basically the same thing, but added “take the fragile part with a grain of salt”….it IS styrene plastic, not ABS and thinner, but still tough under normal handling …the canopy was pointed out as an example because it IS scale thickness..and so much thinner than what 21st c...
