Scratchbuild..

Great looking customs!!! What materials do you use for the customization of the XD vehicles? I would love to do some conversions like you have done.
Also what is your technique for painting the vehicles.....airbrush....patterns..ect.

Thanks for the generous comments. The building is made from one peice of styrofoam not including the side wall, the entry way and foundation were made from plaster poured deeper held up by wood supports until dry. Like a dope I didn't take any pictures to document the buiding process but a great ide...

Picked one of these up at Target for 4.99. Good for customizing for a Vietnam dio. Throw some palm leave foilage on them and remove the armour and you got yourself Viet Kong.

The buildings are made from craft store 1 inch thick styrofoam and covered in a layer of plaster. Scrap wood and small molds were used for the other details of the building. I use a brick mold on top of the un dried plaster to get the brick effect. A little tedious bu effective (beats carving them o...

Thanks for all of your comments. In answer to a few of your questions: The diorama was made out of a styrofoam base cut and layered to give elevation. I then mixed plaster and paper towels and used this to lay the sloping ground work. I sculpted the plaster with a plastic knife. I then layed the roc...

To make the water I used envyrotex which you can pick up at any craft store, it is thicker so you can add depth which is a nice effect.
