Very nice models, too bad they are not WW2....... and a little pricey.

Re: How did you get started in the hobby?

As a teen, I built kits and destroyed the tanks and vehicles with "realistic" shell holes by heating my Moms knitting needles and melting holes in the turret sides. Skip ahead years and my youngest found a 21C 1/18 CC in TRU and gave it to me as a BDay present. The quality knocked me out. I was a MV...

Re: 1/6th Sherman Wanted

Matthew: I absolutely love my Sherman. As usual, still want to add a few things. I saw a pic of a late war Sherman with hull top mgs mounted in front of the commander (.30cal) and in front of the loader (.50cal) and already added a better aerial. Those have been, now just have to add hatch periscope...

Are you going to pile your 1/6 Sherman's like your Stuarts?

Wow..... You are truly a collectors collector. 8)

Did you built a new attic?

Re: MORE PROLIFIC 1:16 or 1:18 ?

which of the two would be the most prolific in WWII and have the brighter future on it's horizon? 1:16 or 1:18 ?? 1/16 without a doubt. I'm sorry to say, 1/18 has become a niche for collectors. Except for a few 1/16, my collection is 1/18 and 1/6 (where the future lies). 1/16 today is still where 1...

Re: 1/18 HARLEY DAVIDSON SERVI-CAR ( Ebay )

I just received this model after three days shipping from HK. Model is as pictured on eBay and is nice. Packing was a little unusual. It is a MAISTO MODEL, in a Maisto box but the box is for a series of HD models, none of which is the Servi-Car. A little odd. Anyway, nice and I'm happy with ...

Re: Anything 1/18 expected at Toys R Us or Target this seaso

Does anyone still go to brick and mortar stores for our toys?

I still buy but from etailers, other collectors or from eBay. Just bought a 1/18 Servi-car from eBay.

The stuff is out there, not as frequently as the "old days" but my fingers still find them.

Re: 1/18 HARLEY DAVIDSON SERVI-CAR ( Ebay )

Very nice, even though I thought the servi-cer was from the 1950's.

Would go nicely with the Souido 1950 Chevrolet Army Panel truck.

Thanks for the find.

OK, I'm running out of storage room for this great box of vehicles and figs, I'll drop the price to $125 with free U.S. shipping.

Paypal + 3% to cover the fees. Or USPS money order, or your check if I know you.

PM me if you want it.

Very nice, but it is an unpainted kit. Since my Grandson can paint better than me, I'll pass. The same vendor has a 1/4 Water cooled machine gun. Also a kit but since I was a kit and went into the home of one of my Uncle's buddies and this guy had a 1/1 water cooled Browning sitting in his living ro...

Yep, Sky Crane. I had a brain fart before and could not remember. I was in a Signal Bn and part of our mission was to have equipment on hill top fire bases and the repeater equipment was installed in boxes like shipping containers that fit in the back of deuce & a half's and these Sky Cranes would c...

Granch: Now that is a very nice setup. In my closet of old forgotten stuff, buried in boxes of slides and B&W pics, of VN are more than a few pics of Chinooks (spelling?) carrying artillery, Jeeps and downed Hueys. I even have at least a few pics of some monster helo with tall legs carrying shipping...

Re: 1/18 scale 100mm Anti-aircraft Gun Type 59 Metal Model E

Nice, if you like late 40's/early 50's Chinese artillery. The gun is a Chinese copy of a Russian AAA gun. To me, the barrel of the Type 59 is a little short to be AAA, but I checked and the 1/1 gun was AAA and had a short barrel. My complaint is on the huge (to scale) screws all over the gun and is ...

Why are you only considering "modern" Ruskie tanks?

I'd love to see a WW2 KV-2. You can change the turret and you also have a KV-1. Both serious Ruskie tanks.

Re: Prices Way Down On E-bay

Ditto on Corey. I believe the 1/18 WW2 toy market has seen it's peak. The 1/18 collector market should survive. Price will go up as the collector market produces limited production runs. As well as more than a few members of this board, my 1/6 collection has risen sharply in the last year. Prices ar...

Not the first time 21C prototypes pop up on eBay. Big find was the 1/18 21C King Tiger, bought by one of our guys. Some time ago, I found a 1/6 prototype 21C Scout Car dressed up as Gen. Patton's personal armored car. Not real special, just a proto that never made the cut to manufacture. The real sp...

I saw the set up pics before but did a good crowd show up? Anybody know. Facilities looked great, not WW2 but looking good and I'm just curious as to the number of attendees.

Hope they had a good meeting, just curious.

Love the Graf Spee, especially like the touch of the builders glasses on the upper deck. Maybe it represents some kind of secret weapon reflecting the suns rays.

Re: Prices Way Down On E-bay

For what it's worth, I believe it is the economy and especially the uncertain costs we will pay for health care next year. That can be a few bucks or very serious increases. For me, it will mean only a $5 increase in co-pays, and a few small other changes, no premium increases, so my toy budget does...
