Re: Banzai!

Nice rescue/restoration...it looks like the original owner left it in the sun and rain with the packing material still on it... :? Did you get a decent price on it? In any case, you must be real happy with the new addition, enjoy your growing collection... Thanks, c44. I paid a premium price for th...

Re: My 1:30th SCale Japanese Tank Collection

Finally, here's the complete collection. from bottom up, we have a Type 37 with the 57mm cannon by King & Country, two Figarti Tanks--a Type 95 and the new Type I. Above them is an amphibious Japanese tank by Thomas Gunn.Image

My 1:30th SCale Japanese Tank Collection

Counting ready-made only, it's up to four models so far and has just increased in size by a third with the addition of a very beat up old Figarti rendition of a late mark Japanese Type I ( aka Type 37 ) tank with a 47mm anti-tank gun replacing the original low velocity 57mm main gun. I did a complet...

Re: new!! 1/32 WW! FT-17 tank available

I bought one as well. I don't believe that it's from a new line, however. A French member of another forum thinks it is part of a number of models, including figures, that Atlas made without paint, some time ago but didn't follow through on.

The First Altaya 1:43rd Scale Tanks Arrive

I've been buying these mostly from a Chinese seller but I passed on the Sherman as I didn't like its look. However, the other 10 are reasonably acceptable and I've made improvements on all of them, including complete code 3s on the Brammbar, Jagedpanther, Jagedtiger and Tiger. Next up are the U.S. M...

Re: Corgi Bird Cage Corsair

On eBay it's between $45-100. But at Aikins, it's a lot cheaper, AF:

Re: Corgi Bird Cage Corsair

These models are OK, AF, but they lack a pitot head and they botched the tail wheel part. If you display the model in the wheels-down mode, you're in fairly good shape, but the part provided doesn't fit right in the "up" position.

Re: % of collectors that also build models to supplement the

I voted "yes" but, in reality, I hate making kits and---a few exceptions aside--I prefer to buy kit-makes on eBay, then code 3 them, sometimes entirely, sometimes only partially, as this is the aspect that I enjoy the most. I have found that, if one is careful and looks at the pictures and asks ques...

I've had a bunch of them for years, AF. They are quite good but need to be given a light dose of Dullcoat.

Re: Diecast Hnagar Pub seems to be gone

If you used ad blockers most of the Yuku issues could be dealt with----except for picture posting. My problem with the DHP was the almost total lack of support for all but modern jets and the very low response rates if one posted anything about WW2, code 3s, etc. Nevertheless, members of the DHP sho...

Second that, cnq. I just finished a DO-335A "What If?" using one of the Atlas/Oxford Diecast models which is in a hypothetical recon motif that has similarities to your fine kit-make. Keep 'em coming.

I think I will stick with two,......FoV and King and Country. I have been looking at K...

Re: My Old Cars SM-79 Code 3

Thanks, Snake. I agree that a 1:72nd scale SM-79 would probably be a big seller if tried by an Altaya type manufacturer as part of a larger subscription line, then sold individually in the diecast "after market" a la Oxford. I doubt that it would work for a Corgi or HM, unfortunately, as then, it wo...
