July new items from Battleground - Long post

It was a productive time at Battleground over the past few months. We received some great suggestions and were also able to finish some long standing projects. All are available now in the store: https://www.battlegroundmodels.com/shop-1 A summary: Three KDF conversion kits for the Maisto 1:18 Volks...

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter

I agree with AJ. If I've learned anything it's how hard this is and how timelines are best laid plans but subject to reality and I'm doing no where near the scale that MJ and his crew are attempting. There is risk in everything, but hopefully their excellent track record to date speaks for itself. M...

Re: Interest in a Sherman T-40 Whizbang kit?

Great question Cascabel. The Whizbang was designed to provide a huge upgrade in firepower for quick assaults against bunkers, obstacles, wire or minefields like the D-Day landings. The rockets could be re-loaded but the whole assembly was actually designed to pop off after firing turning it back int...

Interest in a Sherman T-40 Whizbang kit?

I ran across the T-40 Whizbang doing some D-Day research. http://imgur.com/JQyPgPg.jpg The D-Day connection is that apparently the T-40's were going to be part of the main assault, but due to the center of gravity change after adding the rockets, they were converted back to standard Shermans. Some o...

Re: Lots of new 1:18 (and 1:16) items to share

The Marston matting panels are based on the 1:1 scale and each panel comes out to 169.20mm x 23mm. I added this image to the site because that was a great question! https://static.wixstatic.com/media/e7e625_df01fd43256a4ee19b40b31a5450bdbf~mv2.png/v1/fill/w_438,h_199,al_c,q_85,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01/e7e...

Lots of new 1:18 (and 1:16) items to share

Re: Long Tom in 1:18 scale

For the 1/16 M25, in addition to the winches I made the ring and mounts for the MG. Also, in looking around to find the "PTE" missle launcher for sale I realized they were actually made by True Heroes. Unlike the 1/16 M25 where those bits were missing, the True Heroes version has winches and a gun r...

Re: Long Tom in 1:18 scale

There is a diecast Caterpillar D4 tractor in 1:16 that might pass scale wise as a D6 M1 tractor in 1:18. A 1:1 D4 crawler is 120 inches long. Which would be 190mm in 1:16. A 1:1 D6/M1 Crawler is 149 inches which would be 210mm in 1:18. 1:16 D4 https://i.ebayimg.com/images/i/292916376117-0-1/s-l1000....

Re: Long Tom in 1:18 scale

Please forgive my ignorance, but, what is PoE? And do you make anything else for this? I meant to type PTE (Power Team Elite) not PoE. That is the brand these items are produced under now. Also, I believe they were pulled by the M1 tractors as well. https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-i764XotS3P8/WB79CRPzjh...

1:18 Hs-293 German Flying Bomb Kit

I thought I would try something for the flight enthusiasts here. This “flying bomb” was apparently the first cruise missile. It was designed and used by the Germans as a ship killer. It apparently was fairly successful. Early versions were controlled by mothership plane with an extremely long wire. ...

Armored Jeep Interest?

I've been toying with the idea to make a few mod kits for the various 1:18 diecast Willys jeeps that have been made over the years. These jeeps are readily available on the shelf at Meijer and on Amazon or ebay for around $25-30. The kit would be two armor pieces that would allow you to make this: h...
