Re: 1:18 Scale technical

Yes, sorry. Here is one for sale on Amazon. Scary this person is asking $150 for what is less that $10 in the drug store.

1:18 Scale technical

I know people have been looking for an affordable option here as I was for a while too. Anyway, while not quite the ideal build (Toyota quad would be my preference), there is now an inexpensive Ford Pick up available in various colors. It is very bare bones - it doesn't look to have working anything...

Re: Did they make individual Japanese Pilots in 1:18?

True not on cards but BBI did release its amazing US pacific pilot individually in bags. They were relatively cheap and an upgrade over the 21C pacific pilots.

Thanks for the review NSA. Fun there is something new but agree that it does seem a bit pricey at $30 in a big box store.

He had the updated M21 I believe. These guys are great, and TMan's right - they were dirt cheap right out the gate, like 2 bucks or less. It was one of those amazing moments in 1:18 collecting history...

Re: WHO WILL MAKE PILOT"s for the Dauntless ?

I have a couple of the BBI Corsair/Hellcat pilots that I got when places like Badcat were selling them for $2 a piece. I'm counting on those working just fine... This. Plenty of those floating around and they are great figures. I'm sure the secondary market will open up nicely if the Dauntless come...

Re: Red Tails...

Great article in the NYT about Lucas and making this film. After the director of "The Wire" made the movie initially for Lucas, it was too serious (and good), so Lucas brought in a cartoon creator to dumb it down and add sassy dialogue. While this obviously sux for us, it is the way to sell movies t...

Re: New BBI online store coming soon.

Great news. Cut out the middle-man. Brick and mortar is becoming a thing of the past and only adds unecessary cost to hobby products like these. Also gone are the PC restrictions and box dimensions that have been an obstacle to great products being readily or ever available. Full support from me.

Re: Best Brand Normandy Paratrooopers?

Best weapons go to Dragon but BBI are really the best overall. And now that you can get them with removable harness you can cover the whole spectrum from flight ready to battle ready. They also have the best headsculpts - many of which are from Saving Private Ryan and can be swapped out easily to ma...

Not sure if this is one of the rare 21C schemes floating around or how often it comes up so wanted to post. Apologies if it has been noted elsewhere:

Re: Chap Mei C-130 Photo Review

I think one thing we need to face as a group is that while we called for more detail (even if at a higher price point) the market really wanted the opposite, which reveals we truly are the minority in all this. Nothing else can explain True Heroes releasing huge Missile Trucks, Jets, the Longbow Apa...

When I saw the Skyraider model at Toy fair a few years ago it was far and away the most impressive AC I had laid eyes on. Even moreso than the F4. Real shame it never happened.

i know they have one all ready to go
This bbi Hind talk has perpetuated for years but nobody can ever point to the origin of the rumor. No photo, no article, just a recurring dream. Besides, we all know a mock-up is not "ready to go" - see the 21C A-10.

I don't think 6 tanks and 2 halftracks, with variations in 10+ years can be described as 'too many vehicles'.
How quickly we forget. Are we not counting Jeeps, Trucks, Kubels, Command Car, artillery or anything after WWII?
