Very nice Avenger Jnewboy! 8) Always wondered when someone would make one from a 21st TBF. Looks like he modified it for the cowl gun that was on the early model. Unbelievable detail for the interior. The regular Atlantic editions are already high priced, and the Bunker Hill even higher, so ...
Ok, got one thanks guys. Very colorful looking. There aren't any pics out there except for the stock photo so can't exactly see what's painted on the sides but looks interesting. The whole plane looks like it's got a lot going on with the paint.
Though you're probably a little too young to vote Dannyc, give it till 2016 and things can take a complete 180 turn around. Once again the propaganda machine is stirring up trouble to that end. It will happen when (if) the opposition takes power by the other side, though maybe a little less vitrioli...
So they are nicely done then. The prices are the same as the Amercom models. From what I can see the detail seems to be better than the Amercom's. The WWI biplanes look to be worth having as well. Been putting off getting any WWI, but there are enough out there in 1:72 scale to start collecting them...
Thanks, may as well wait as it takes a while from Poland anyways. It looks good though. I see the Savoi Marchette SM-81 that was so hard for me to get. Along with the SM-55X which I never got yet, and the Flying Boxcar Fairchild too. Where's the Falco though? The CR-42 is missing from the line-up. :(
Leo die cast aircraft will soon be available again from at least a couple of US. retailers. http://www.aikensairplanes.com/search.php?search_query=leo http://www.themotorpool.net/Leo-Models-Diecast-Military-Aircraft-s/431.htm Some of this has been sold under various other brands like Italeri or Aero...
I like the Shinden a lot. 8) Wish someone would make one pre-built. That Corgi Zero is suppose to be ace of aces Nishizawa's. It's an old mold with lots of gaps etc. I bought that one and quite a few more Corgi's till I found a better one in that scale by Witty Wings. They can be had quite inexpensi...
will be interesting to see how the upcoming AF1 B-25's compare to FOV and Corgi. and of course the AF1 B-17 is highly anticipated. I just hope they don't do something dumb like put the national insignia on the wrong wings, which they've done on a few of their other models. If they are the quality o...
I got one of these FOV B-25's a while back. The QC was so bad I sent it back. It had glue finger prints all over one of the top wings. Really showed up on the silver finish. Was offered another but decided the FOV olive drab version I have of the same squadron was good enough. Not a bad deal for the...
This is true JR. You never know which ones become hard to get. Then some hard to gets are reissued like the Vals and Kates Wing Kit. Usually it's the heavy bombers though are a sure thing to appreciate in value. Didn't know you had so much Japanese aircraft. 8) Noticed the super rare German stuff un...
I recommend both the die cast and plastic models. There is some assembly required for the F-Toys Cafereo etc. lines. Though they are painted and some but not all the insignia are painted on. You have to apply some decals though. The reason why as Epap said they may be flimsy is they are mostly snap ...
That's interesting, explains why the Enterprise aircraft were painted with larger insignia, on the other hand doing that caused maybe large enough red areas to confuse it with a meatball.
Guess the Lexington didn't get to it before she went down with many, but not all of her planes.
I find it odd that some Navy aircraft early 1942 had a large star on the fuselage nearer the rear cockpit, while others had it near the tail. All the Lexington aircraft, Devastators, Dauntless, and Wildcat I do believe were with the little tail insignia. I think the pic shows where they overpainted ...
They can't just give them to the Army because of a stupid rule made after WWII separating the forces.
They are ones who really need them and could loose lives when they are gone.
Remember the USAAF?
The Air Force can stick to their Nintendo warfare.
That's good to know, thanks. Would work on not only camouflage patterns but the uneven pattern between the grey undersides and OD topsides of particularly WWII transport aircraft that has the series of soft peaks and valleys the length of the aircraft. Also a softer edge between colors if sprayed on.
Interesting. I just saw a BBC segment on how Dr. Mengle liked to experiment on twins and some of the survivors stories. The cruelty inflicted on not just Jews, Gypsies, etc. but especially their children brought a tear to my eyes. Though if you were a twin likely you had a better chance at surviving...
Nice work on the armor and Hurricane. I especially like the grey Panzer and Tiger. 8) On the Hurricane you are using modeling clay to separate the colors prior to painting the next. It's been a while since I built any model, but this is a novel thing and solves a lot of tedious masking it would seem...
And it's the early model B-25B and the Doolittle plane. I have the Corgi "Ruptured Duck" Tokyo Raider but if this a better example than a Corgi I'll get it. The B-25 is one of Corgi's better efforts yet it's an older tooling so it suffers from a few of their flaws. Wonder if it will be better than a...
