Thinking about selling off my 1/18 collection

I'm thinking about selling off my 1/18 items. Is there anyone in the Texas who might be willing to buy the collection an pick it up or sell it on commission/consignment? I just don't feel up to boxing and shipping the items. Consider all items displayed/used. 21st Century P-38 - Sold P-40 missing a ...

Re: want 21st Century 1/32 Zero, Stuka, FW-190

I have a Focke-Wulf 7/A-8/A-9 Red 19 and a Mustang P-51 B/C, both new in boxes, that I'd be willing to part with for a fair price. Tuesday Morning purchases. Considering selling off other 1/32 and possibly 1/18 items this year.

Re: French King Tiger in Overloon 2018

I think it is from a museum in Saumur, France. There really hasn't been any video of it running since maybe 2014. Then I stumbled on these recent gems. Just wanted to share.

I believe there is another King tiger/tiger ii under restoration. Switzerland?

Hmmm... Well it did work. I guess I was seeing a cached version. I don't have an imageshack account. Is it possible that the image is set to private or that it is set to not allow remote linking? I have my website set up to not allow remote linking to images except for images in a dedicated folder t...

Re: 1/16 tanks

Yeah, they will go bad eventually.

There are hobby forums out there with battery aficionados who debate the fine arts of battery maintenance and long term storage at length.

Would it be possible to repair the cracked gear?

Re: 1/16 RC M1A1 Abrams Tank ( TRU)

Looks like the Hobby Engine Abrams. I bought one the first year they came out. Dillard's had them as a seasonal Christmas gift item around ten to twelve years ago. I was poverty stricken at the time and took a chance on buying one on clearance after the holidays. Managed to get one for around $55, w...

Hey, you too can have peeling decals for $38K.
Hopefully, those are Monokote or something long lasting. Vinyl stickers can age, dry out and crack. A decade from now, it might look like this... Aging LEGO stickers

Re: 1/16 tanks

Here's a few photos of the Heng Long Abrams. It's nicely detailed. A few notes, the add on parts are interesting as there seems to be multiple coats of paint, a metallic coat and then the desert yellow. The turret rails are a flexible plastic, unpainted. There's a bit of a gap where the side rails a...

Re: My Conversation with A Merit Rep Regarding 1/18th Scale

Looking forward to the Fw-190. There haven't been a lot of new premade 1/18 items to compete for my wallet that past few years. Even better when it's something I want.

There's a movie, Panzer 88, in "ongoing" development that has one of those in the storyboards.

Re: Amazon

If it were eBay maybe. Amazon, probably not. Do you feel like it was something deceptive or an honest/casual mistake? Just out of curiosity, was the original price they published realistic or too good to be true? What if the price is "obviously" wrong? You might check the seller's feedback from cust...

Looks like there will be a Heng Long M1A2 Abrams sometime. Saw one for sale out of China on eBay this morning.

Wanting to retire my Hobby Engine Abrams. I discovered that the tracks had dried out and hardened. The metal tracks are too expensive.

Re: Just saw the Movie "Fury" (Added Photos and description)

I would recommend the bible of Sherman information: R.P. Hunnicutt's, Sherman: A History of the American Medium Tank. It is expensive and maybe hard to find. But you may find it at your local library or library exchange program.. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2802962-sherman Thanks for the sug...

I'm wondering if the Sheman in that earlier graphic is about 13-14% under scaled . http://www.skypirate.net/warbirds/141031_0007.jpg As far as combat effectiveness goes, I'm not sure what to believe. Strategic vs. direct tank to tank comparisons. Personally, I think the Germans' kill ratio had the "...

Re: diecast Nautilus-20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA

I've found some prices closer to $307, but that is still a lot of money for a 15 inch model. Granted, finished and lighted. There is a larger 39 inch Kaiyodo, prepainted, some assembly required model available for under $150. The portals look like they're frosted. :( Somewhat suspicious of a descrip...

Re: Just saw the Movie "Fury" (Added Photos and description)

I took my father to go see it at one of the Alamo Drafthouse theaters this past Saturday. Alamo is awesome because they find off the wall content to play prior to the movie. For Guardians of the Galaxy , they found lots of crazy raccoon footage . For Fury , it was lots of Private Snafu and some clay...
