There's also been a few "conversions" of the F5 into other aircraft, both real and fictional. Instead of the F5's normal wings, give it forward-swept mainplanes and horizontal "trailing edge extensions" and you'd have either an X-29 or a Battletech Stingray, for example. I'd like one or two, but I'm...

PTE IFV

I make the IFV out to be 15" from the back of the rear door to the tip (is that the right word?) of the bow (with the swim plate folded), 6" side-to-side across the widest point (lower hull is just over 3", top of hull is 4.5") and it stands 6.5" to the top of the gun mount, just over 4.75 to the to...

Unless you are gonna start munching on a circuit board from inside the tank you are safe... A word on these 1/24 tanks.... they are fine for indoors on carpet, or outdoors on driveways or other relatively smooth surfaces, but they are pretty limited on any kind of rough terrain, for that 1/16...

http://mmodell.de/forum/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=709 Apparently, these will be available late August/September. Is it just me, or does everyone get a "this image has been removed" marker where GooglyDoogly's avatar should be? (Or has this already been covered and I've missed the thread? :oops...

Just a thought, but could you get silicon rubber in there rather than epoxy resin? You mentioning vibrations made me realise that a solid resin might break apart from the vibration - it may not seem like there's much, but there could be enough to make it crack and flake over time... If you use silic...

You really should solder it first. It won't take much, and you will make sure that you won't lose the power which you could do if you just coat it in glue or epoxy - no matter how tight you think the wire is twisted on, if any insulator gets between the wire and the motor eye you will lose the conne...

What about your local Scout troop? Or do you have Air Cadets over there? (We've got the Air Training Corps over here in Blighty). They'd probably love something that sort of size to "play" with. Re: new AC

Sadly they have adopted the same policy as the other manufacturers - say nothing about new AC. As a result we are in the dark on all fronts. I really wish we never gave the companies a hard time about missing deadlines or announcing planes they wind up not making - now we get no announcements, noth...

I guess you can consider false bids to drive a price higher. I have seen auctions in the past that look rather suspicious. A rock in the nose as a counter weight? Perhaps, in their zest for accuracy they went too far. Remember that the night fighter was a "late" war design. The Germans had been bombed practically into the "stone age" and had to improvise all kinds of quick fixes using readily found materials. Of coarse...

They could be the sort of thing the "real steel" manufacturers take to air shows the world over - scale models of their products to show potential customers, often done up in the colours of the show's hosts nation as a marketing gimmick. I've seen similar things at the Farnborough show, normally fro...
