Re: Question about old XD Vietnam figures

I took a comparison photo of my old VC figure with the new one I just got. Sorry, not the greatest quality since I was using my phone for the photo http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll210/MorianMiner/VC.jpg I'm sure it is hard to tell from the picture, but the one on the left is my original, with t...

Re: Question about old XD Vietnam figures

These are all carded figures. I have a couple originals and comparing the two, the packaging looks the same. Definitely not someone's custom work.

Question about old XD Vietnam figures

Long time, no see Need to pick the brain of the "old timers" around here. I just picked up an auction of all seven of the original 7 XD Vietnam figures (the series with the NVA and VC). When I opened the package, I was surprised that all the figures had painted skin tones rather than cast in "flesh"...

Re: 1/16 tanks

Was out running my HL Walker today, and the one track broke. Wondering how common this is with the HL plastic tracks - is it worth getting a replacement set of plastic tracks, or is this a common occurance?

Fry's grocery stores had them before Christmas. Pretty much half case of new figs, half case of old repacks. On occasion, at random stores in certain neighborhoods, you can occasionally find a Temple Guard hiding on a toy shelf.

For those looking for the TOD assortment, before Christmas these were showing up at Fry's grocery stores (think they are call Kroger's elsewhere). Mola, Short Round, and the lady are long gone, but occasionally I still see the other two on the shelves. If you are still looking for that assortment, a...

In a heartbeat - yes. And, I've done it before. Not for as much as a thousand, but for a decent chunk of change. The pieces I got rid of I knew I would never own again, because I know I would never spend that much for any "toy". If something is worth that much, I won't enjoy having it because I won'...

Since I haven't been on the board for a while, I was not aware the Fallschirmjaers were showing up. Only found the Major, and of course this is a figure I already have an extra of. Still, was not about to leave him there.

Let me throw my two-cents in. Reading only the first few posts, I agreed with tankduel. As someone who had to spend all last year watching my wife try to take care of her father's estate, and deal with all the phone calls and letter from people trying to score a deal, the initial post sounded pretty...

Look at some of the Euro farmhouses by Playmobil. They might be along the lines of what you are looking for. Check in the add-ons section of their website.

If a company is going to make a train model, power it to get the interest of the train crowd. But, if someone didn't - no biggie. There are plenty of display models that have been released in various scales that are easily modified into powered units, if desired.

right, i forgot about 1/20.3 scale......it's the so called 'F' scale. Much closer than 1/22.5, although i don't think variety is nearly as good.. Actually, there is a very good selection of 1:20.3 stuff. It all depends on what XD you want to use. There is a bunch of equipment in 1:20.3 that was use...

The Hulk figures are actually old GI Joe molds with one new head. Also in that line is a repainted GI Joe Humvee. Hasbro doings its usual cross-pollination of toy lines (actually, I think its pretty cool)

Have one RC T-34 - believe it was Aferg who tipped the board off to a smoking auction one time. Absolutely love it. Had it out again yesterday with a few IJ Russians hanging on it (I don't get picky on scales when its flying across my backyard 20 feet away). The vodka was flowing, and a good time wa...

True, there are ways around it. But how hard is it for Hasbro to standardize? It seems only their GI Joe group understands they can make life easier for customizers to army build.

Stupid f@#$@#$ Hasbro! Was going to do some German/Russian head-swaps - and Hasbro didn't use the same size neck balls! I don't get why on the SW and now Indy line, Hasbro uses diff neck balls, but uses the same on the GI Joe figures. Oh well.

Finally got me a couple Russians Troopers tonight, and another German truck (my kids confiscated the first one). Better elbow articulation on the Russian trooper - he has no problem holding a Marauder AK47. Too bad the same thing can't be said for the Colonel. Still, really happy with the Russians. ...

My kids "convinced" me to hunt for these today. Even though I have one I preorder, had to pick up one of the German trucks and a handful of the Russian colonels. The kids convinced me to get them the Marion two-pack and Indy with horse. Surprised how articulated the horse was. But, I wonder how long...

McFarlane and 1/18

Last week, the family took a trip to Disneyland. Since we were going through Phoenix, I made my usual stop at the McFarlane company store. While in there, I saw some guy walk in with his kid. The way he talked to the store manager, I figured it was just some collector until I got a better look - it ...

I'm not sure if its a benefit if the weapons are removable. I use several of the McFarlane 6"-scale weapon packs to provide more realistic guns for my 8"-scale GI Joes. They don't look too bad, and they work since decent weapons aren't too easy to find in that size. But, in 1/18 land, where you have...
