Re: Big Daddy Missile launchers

I got one of those off Amazon several years ago, thinking it would be like the elusive PTE missile launcher truck. These were junk and unable to hold a figure. Back in 2021 I was able to get the PTE truck from M&C Toys in China (along with the PTE A-10 and SU-27) and it is a much larger and far supe...

Re: How big should 1/18 scale aircraft get?

Going back to the 2009-2010 era, I think the JSI F-14 demonstrated the limits of 1/18 scale aircraft… Granted there were issues with JSI, their quality control, and materials used to construct the model like weak plastics, but the model is massive and unwieldy and hard to do too much with. I have bo...

Re: Opinions on World Peacekeeepers Military Patrol Buggy?

thanks Tman, I can always count on you for good advice. It's a shame that all the great BBI toolings from years ago are going unused. The Elite Force line is still continuing but it a much more toy like form. Why not re-release some of these old toolings instead of making toyish, awful new ones? Th...

Re: Opinions on World Peacekeeepers Military Patrol Buggy?

Andy, I saw these in person when they were at Target and Toys R Us stores nearly a decade ago. It’s kind of a joke compared to the awesome and accurate FAV BBI made 20-something years ago… Pic is of my BBI Desert FAV. If you can find the older BBI version, that’s definitely the one to get. https://i...

Re: Merit 1:16 Scale M-ATV MRAP Vehicle!

I’ve never measured it… Packed away now, but it’s definitely bigger than 1/18. 4” figures (as opposed to the 3.75” FOV Bravo Team figures in my old pics from 2015) scale better with the vehicle. For a time I had some of the Joy Toy USMC figures in the Merit M-ATV and they looked more to-scale. Like ...

Nice job, Matthew! And this is your first Kubelwagen repaint? Nevertheless, fantastic work on those tanks, Pickelhaube 8)

I’ll back up Aracula here and say his Jagdpanzer IV kit is great :D As with all custom resin-cast models of this type, it takes some time and skill to complete, but comes out looking good. This is my Aracula Jagdpanzer IV L70(V) kit that I built back in 2019/2020: https://i.postimg.cc/BnKvYQpB/8020-...

Re: Are Joytoy's Darksource and Battle for the Stars figs made up?

The Joy Toy Warhammer figures are certainly quite elaborate! Not quite my cup of tea personally, though I do rather like the WWI German look of the Death Corps of Krieg figures… The Corvus Believe Infinity figures have piqued my interest given their futuristic, but grounded, sci-fi military look. Th...

Re: Are Joytoy's Darksource and Battle for the Stars figs made up?

Aferg, I think those Joy Toy figure lines are either made up or correspond to a Chinese graphic novel or comic made to go with those toy lines. A lot of interesting sci-fi/fantasy figures there. In addition to the Warhammer line, Joy Toy also has a Corvus Belli Infinity war gaming themed line of fig...

I’ve got one of those SAM trucks myself, Aferguson. I got mine from M&C Toys in Hong Kong around 2 years ago, but still haven’t opened and displayed it. The truck is indeed a nice vehicle and is well scaled to the figures. I need to break it out sometime!

Re: Joy Toy 1/18 WWII Soviet Infantry Review?

I’ve got a set of the Joy Toy Soviet Infantry and German SS troops but have yet to open them. I also have the Marauder Task Force (MTF) WWII figures as well. That said, the Joy Toy figures are closer to 3.75” or 1/18 scale and are noticeably shorter than the MTF figures. Those are 4” figures, so kin...

I’ve not heard of this, but then anything seems possible, particularly when it comes to German armor in WWII… It is known the Germans made a Bergetiger/Ladungsleger Tiger variant with a large boom and winch mounted to the turret of a Tiger I tank, though there’s apparently been some debate about whe...

Not sure how much they are selling for in the US but in Canada, 3.75 inch figures are selling for $24-27 each. What???? I remember several years ago when they went up to $10 I was ticked off. I will NEVER buy one at that price or anything even close to that price. Yeah… Long gone are the days when ...

Re: The New XL-15 is Great!

Yeah, the film has come and gone, lol. Lightyear was supposed to be an origin story for the “actual” character the Buzz Lightyear toy from Pixar’s classic 1995 Toy Story film was based on, or rather the movie the kid in Toy Story saw that made him want the Buzz Lightyear action figure. It wasn’t a t...
