Re: 1/18 Ho-229 Prototype Build Should Resume Wednesday !!

Quite frankly, all other things aside, I've often wondered what would have happend had the Germans solely focused on Russia (you know, the whole defeating Communism, etc) from the get-go and left Western Europe alone... would they have succeeded and would they have gotten some of the other European...

Re: 1/18 Ho-229 Prototype Build Should Resume Wednesday !!

well, the invasion of Russia itself wasn't the undoing of Germany. They very, very nearly succeeded. As premised in the alternate history above, if the invasion had taken place early May instead of late June, then Moscow would probably have fallen before the worst of the winter weather set in that ...

Re: 1/18 Ho-229 Prototype Build Should Resume Wednesday !!

Since all this is speculation on this Topic...had Hitler not made the insane descision to attack Russia thus ruining his Army and the Luftwaffe the D-Day invasion would have been another Dunkirk on a massive scale but this time no escape for the Allies

Re: 1/18 Ho-229 Prototype Build Should Resume Wednesday !!

maybe they would of used 2 Bf 109 size or smaller swastikas that sat same area maybe closer to end of manta ray tail on each side of of centerline which would put them out of harms way from engine blast.... I reckon....TJJ

Re: 1/18 Ho-229 Prototype Build Should Resume Wednesday !!

it is very possible the Go 229 would have been unsuited for combat. Stability problems could have been considerable and potentially unsolvable with 1945 technology. Flying wings which are just intended to fly straight and level have had stability problems and the b-2 needs a bank of computers makin...

Re: 1/18 Ho-229 Build . Input needed on swastikas Pics 4-2

Agreed Aferg... I think low viz would be more in tune with what the Luftwaffe would use at that time in the war... but then again solid black swastikas and black outline only underwing balkankreuzes would be appropriate as well...TJJ

with the Factory Codes still visible on this bird I would agree... 10,000 Rubles for his head would fit in with the Rise of the Black Devil

Re: BBI Hartmann Bf109G Scheduled for October 2011

Hey Jnewboy- I tend to agree that more often than not Hartman would have removed wing cannons due to the fact that he liked to get in real close before even lettin loose with his nose guns....alot of time within a hundred meters before lettin loose his guns in which stated in doing this he was taken...

Re: 1/18th Hartmanns Eagle Feb. 1945

lookin thru ref books I have according to Claes Sundins Hartmann profile It was his Yellow 1 bird of Oct. '43 that had his kill wreath on rudder- 9./JG52 4TH Gruppen marking behind fuselage white outline balkankreuze- then his Aug. '44 bird 9./JG52 4TH Gr. has no kill wreath- both birds have the arr...
