I for one am a poor toy collector. Last summer I cleared a room out of the boxes, just threw them all out. I want to touch my toys, have them say hello to each other in the dark when we're not looking. I only have three in unopened boxes and I have custom plans for them all. I cannot see any enjoyme...

The current CC has the armor shield over the radiator, it has the siren on the bumper, the .50 cal on the running board and the luggage rack on the trunk. In addition on the back of the front seat is the railing to hold on to while generals reviewed their troops. All these together were Patton's per...

Not happy with the new Dodge.
I received the new Dodges today, the WC-63 looks good, but when you look close, this WC-63 truck has problems. The WC-63 winch looks like it came from a CCKW, the whole bumper set-up looks like it is a CCKW. Including the grill guard. The engine is NOT a Dodge motor. The real WC-63 used exactly the ...

Tman: Sounds like a good idea, but you'll never get a University interested and you'll never get it the kids of today to take an interest. Young people today (with few exceptions) have short attention spans. They are smarter than us but TV as a baby sitter stifles many of them. It's up to us to get ...

I've been crying for an M-16 for a long time. You're pushing a request for a NO Mack and a 155mm Long Tom. Can you imagine such a rig in 1:18......it would need a shelf all by itself. You might as well wish for an armored Dragon Wagon with 45ton trailer to pull around a Sherman or M-26 or captured K...

# 1 - The WC-63 was used as an ambulance when needed. I've seen pics of the truck with big red crosses painted on the canvas sides. # 2 - The ring mount wasn't that tall when you stand on the seats. The gun was fired from inside the ring and was used for AA protection. Standing up firing the gun you...

Aferg: Patton was a great general but he was also a showoff. He loved the attention, hence his revolvers (Colt .45 and SW .357) and his customized Jeeps and CC. Patton did use the CC. Other generals also used them now and then but Patton liked his CC. Outside of North Africa, he was not directly fir...

Custom Dodge WC-53 or WC-52
Now that the Dodge 1 1/2 ton is out, who will be the first to cut one down to make a 3/4 ton Weapons Carrier. Should be simple to remove the ring mount stand, cut body between rear wheels and take out a slice of the body. 3/4 ton only had four wheels. I can supply a spec sheet from the manual and pi...

Looking at Digger's pics it struck me that as good as 21c is they do make obvious mistakes. On the actual 1:1 truck: The spare tire is mounted backwards. To hold the tire onto the tire mount it is mounted with the outside facing the truck. It is held on with a round disk about 8" in diameter and a p...

Centone: The only difference between the WC-63 and the WC-62 is the winch. The front of the CC WC-57 and the WC-63 are exactly the same up to the dashboard. There are frame extensions to accomodate the winch. If you want I'll give you exact demensions for both the WC-62 & WC-63 but the only differen...

In response to Aferg's request for history. The 3/4 Dodge Command Cars were used in ALL theaters. The official name was "Command and Reconnaissance Truck". The manual describes the CC as "to provide transportation for staff officers in the field". Truck was available with a winch (WC-57) and without...

Krieg: Mine is a 62 M37B1. I've owned three M-37's over the years, including a M-201. Without a doubt the best truck the Army ever had. Mine is wo/w but we have one and will install it this summer. I would love to see one in 1/18. No chance but it would be nice. Pics are on my site: http://www.geoci...

I would intend to agree. I am no fan of PC, but I am kinda a fan of GC (Government Correct) based mostly on where I live. My country is MY country, I gave four years of my life to defend it, I volunteered for a year in VN, even extended my enlistment to spend the year in VN. I would not live anywher...

Your ideas are great and especially since the IDF uses so many US vehicles, Jeeps, the M-113 and 4,000 White Half-track sitting in their "ready reserves" after being replaced by the M-113. They are a natural for us to play with. I surely would love to see a 1:18 Merkava IDF tank. I've been facinated...
