Re: 1/18 bombers

I googled about and see there is an "FMS" B-25.
Any idea what scale it is?

Because Lucas is involved, I'll be reading reviews first at Rotten Tomatoes before I decide.

Re: Red Tails - January 20, 2012

I can handle Hanks, I can't explain his political views when he has made things Like John Adams and From The Earth to the Moon. But I can handle some of the political disagreement. He is not unlikeable at least in character. Tom Cruise has nothing likable about him for me, literally cannot stand the...

Re: Red Tails - January 20, 2012

Swell. Tom Cruise in a Flying Tigers film? First I've heard of that. Hope it doesn't come to be. I simply cannot stand the sight of the guy, never understood his appeal on any level, and personally think he is out of his freekin' mind and is in a dangerous money cult. That alone means I won't put a ...

1/72 Saturn V for 200 bucks. Dragon is giving Apollo some serious love. Go Dragon!!! Your note made me go look this up -- supposed to be released in December. I'm afraid I'm going to have to get it . . . It will be interesting to see if the stages seperate and there will be engine details. If not i...

Re: NEW GUY-BIG QUESTION

Three words.

Strong fishing line.

I would be unable to collect 1/18 without it!

All of my aircraft are hanging from the ceiiling or gear down on the wall hanging like a picture.

Re: Badcat's 1/18 Wish List for 2011

I'd really like a Raptor. More so then the F-4.

I also think the A-4 Skyhawk would be an easy one.
Small, tons of paint schemes and the Blues used them for years.

Re: Got my first Spotcat!!!!!

Congrats. It cleans up just fine. The hardest (boring) part is masking off everything. As for where to put it.... It can be hung from the ceiling if you quadruple up some strong fishing line. I totally torture tested some line until I was confident it would never break. Though I expect it is a good ...

Re: 1/18 P 47 Eileen

I have actually given away some 1/18s over the years. Sure I guess I could have sold them as some are worth a little scratch now. They went to kids, so I hope they got an appreciation for aviation, history and models out of it. Might help the hobby to get new collectors in the future which we surely...

Never say never.

Buy it.
Cleaning up the spots isn't that tough.
The tough part is masking off the markings only because it is time consuming.

And I guess metal replacement gear is coming soon.

I hang mine up though, so no need for gear.

Well, god, devil or sun help me. I hung it up. I used 14lb test and combined strands: four strands on the front and five on the back. The model weighs around ten pounds by my scale, so I tested this stuff with five pound weights first and really brutalized them to make sure they would hold. I had to...

Is the main body of the F-14 shaped correctly? For some odd reason, when the wings are swept all the way back, it looks off. Do you mean all the way back until they stop? That is not a flight configuration and it will look a bit funny like that. Move them forward from that position so that the lead...

Hi Guys - tired of seeing my F14 with the pox and decided to go for it on the touch up...really, could I make it worse? (lol). What kind of blue tape do you suggest to cover up the decals. I wanted in now no matter what.
I can live without lighted ones and all that, but I didn't want to be left out in the cold if they go belly up and there is never another Tomcat in this scale.

If another comes out with better paint and lights, I'll probably buy that down the road.
