Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION

Nice review. Mine arrived last night, but I'm sadly about to run off on vacation and my friends kids would certainly enjoy playing with the plane if I got it out. I guess this will have to be the grail to bring me home. :)

The top display on the box is nice, and it looks just AWESOME.

Re: PTE Recons

Does anyone already have an SU-27 and can give a critique as to it's quality? I have an F-18 and it still sits in the attic as I wasn't very pleased with the quality. My intention is to build it into something else but just haven't gotten to it. I bought the A-10, F-18, and J-10. The A-10 and J-10 ...

Re: Motorworks

Sometimes major retail chain will request their own "branded" item to differentiate the product from another retailers. Wal-mart had product marked as both "Motorworks" and "New Millenium Toys". I don't know whether Wal-mart requested the private labeling, or if 21st Century did it, but it seems ra...

Re: 21c XD F-104 Tail Section

I was able to get the tail section apart this weekend... It took some strong pulling and prying with a screw driver to get it off. Luckily I did not damage the model. Then I realized why disassembly was so difficult: aparently, when I had assembled the plane in 2005, I had put a dab of superglue on...

On my USAF one it just slides right out but on my german one its a little difficult but with a little force it slides right out.... I wonder if when putting them together if it would help to put some soap or silicon gel on the two latches? Tman ... you've had them out all this time? Wow? I was clos...

Re: 21c XD F-104 Tail Section

A quick question - What is the best way to remove the tail section of the 21c F-104? I'm wanting to disassemble one of my planes, but this part of the operation seems a bit difficult and I'm not wanting to cause significant damage... Thanks for the help :D I thought the same as well, but if you slo...

Re: Actual pictures of F-16 "Enduring Freedom"

I've said this before and I'll repeat it again here, these companies should be including the history of these planes and their pilots in the boxes. Nothing fancy, just a sheet of paper, or even a half sheet to save $$, and give a brief description of the pilot, paint scheme and significance of the ...

Oh.. and Flying Tigers P-40s as well.
Ditto that on TRU and both the halftrack and P-40. It was Aug., and 3 years sounds about right.

Re: New Bravo Team Modern 1:18 Figures (sort of)

MCALAMARI: Thanks. I live a long way from Target. I hate to go over there to find out they've increased the price to $10 or something. I bought a few Delta Force figures maybe two years ago for $5 each. Ebay has some reasonable prices, where you'd probably spend more in gas and time to get to a Tar...

Again, what is Target's price? The previous wave of Bravo Team varies slightly from store / region ... in the Sacramento Area they range from $4.99 to $5.49. Small range, good deal. I've not seen the new wave / style here, but I think stores are waiting til tomorrow for a reset. Yesterday Halloween...

Re: 1:18 Boxes

Just thinned my box collection last week as I was finally reaaranging my attic...I did get rid of my 21C & BBI boxes, as I figure I would probably never go to the trouble of "re-wiring" the planes back into the boxes. I did, however, keep my Franklin Mint Armour and Corgi boxes, as those are a no-b...

I keep most (not all) of my boxes. Anything that comes with the plastic or Styrofoam molding I kept. Originally my first plane (P-47) and my brothers (now mine -- the British Corsair) we debated tossing the boxes due to size ... so glad I did not. If you are going to toss your boxes, ebay them empty...

Yes, already knew about that one, it's been on there for a couple of weeks, but after my experience with the first shop, once I found the second shop had one and they were prepared to sell it, the extra tenner was worth it just to have the model in my collection. Got some interesting news from the german distributor of the Boelcke starfighter: he said that 1000 pieces were produced and ordered by him but somehow 600 of them "disappeared". So they are already sold out of the 400 they received. Now they try to figure out were the rest is. And he also told me ...

Of course that's BS on the A-10 and F-4. There's no way an A-10 or an F-4 couldn't be produced for a retail price that is at or below the $300 retail price of a 1/18 scale F-14. The A-10 especially since it is way simpler to recreate in design features compared to an F-14...... I agree. An A...
