Re: PTE Recons

The Woodland, CA Big Lots has placed their Halloween stuff on the shelves, but no PTE reset. :( I really want the howitzer and the tan watch towers have me intrigued (meaning I'll buy one). Here is a photo of my PTE IFV. Unpainted these are fairly unappealing, but some of the customized versions are...

Neat Mix of 1:18 Photos

While hunting for the PTE IFV, I stumbled across somebody's flicker album:

Re: Which 1/18 body would you put your head onto?

I have a couple of 1/6 Colonial Marines (Hicks and Vasquez) that, with their ton of equipment, would be crying out for my head on either body. Actually, I love the idea. I've always seen myself as a Colonial Marine....... a fat old Marine, but still a Colonial Marine. TTT Now back at ...

Re: Which 1/18 body would you put your head onto?

i figured you'd go for Emperor Palpatine, Jesse. :) Articulation. Everybody knows that the POTF2 Palpatine was a step backwards in action figure evolution -- he was a uni-leg monstrosity. Jesse would never be able to sit in any 1:18 vehicle. What is more unspeakable is the fact that Hasbro has repe...

Re: Which 1/18 body would you put your head onto?

For Sci-Fi, rebel pilot. * For WWII, one of the Operation Market Garden figures (w/ me wearing an late 1930s Pittsburgh Pirates hat to complete the look). Rebel pilot or Airborne, the potential is cool either way. Either I get a really cool 1:18 ride (the Rebel X-wings) or I get a bag full of cantee...

Ooooh can't wait. And I agree, the true stories are really powerful in and of their own right to carry onto the big screen.

As for toys, while it would be great to see 1/18 models role out for this film, I'd also love to see the 1/144s show up again too.

It is a fair price, and Marauders Inc. makes weapons the Red Skull could use. And this Red Skull figure is much cooler than the newer movie one.

Re: Indiana Jones - Raiders "Lost Wave" figures up for sale.

I wonder what the percentage of people who really want/collect the Indy stuff have this set. all the SDCC exclusives have always been sold out quick sold on E-pay for much higher prices and then a year or two down the road many have gone down in value. I guess I'll just wait a year or two and get t...

Re: Indiana Jones - Raiders "Lost Wave" figures up for sale.

Yeah, had these shown up Monday I was on the road all day and would've completely missed anything. On Tuesday I had time. One of our staffers had to go to a meeting at 1, and abandon his efforts, and lost out on the IJ wave. Total fiasco. I appreciate that what makes them "exclusive" is that they a...

Yeah it's been out since about 6 last night or so, EST. :( I work from 8:30 AM PST/PDT to 7 or 8 PM PST/PDT, and most of that time is in meeting or preparing for them. I hate to pay scalper prices, but some of those figures (like the German Mechanic) I really would put to use <-- imagine how many g...

Re: Hoarding is causing me problems..

The question is: Wall-E, collector or hoarder? ;) My previous apartment had a rule about no storage in the water heater area on the balcony, but the apartment really did not have but a few closets ... none of which were large. That and other things really helped me decide it was time to collect or h...

Re: FOV M1 AND M2 at Target

What's their tiger like, any reason to get it over a JSI one or would? It has fewer moving parts or glued on parts, thus if you have younger "enthusiasts" around it is much more likely to stand up to wear and tear. The box it sits in is easy in, easy out. So more toy like, but for the price point w...

So, is someone writing a best seller on 1/18 toy and dolly production? Sounds like a real page turner to me. Why would anybody care for these numbers? It is past history, old and forgotten. Besides the 5000 production run figure that has been thrown around for years. Most of the rest of the numbers...

Are they hard to find? They seem to be on the pegs here. Out here, he and Cross bones are pretty dang impossible to find. The Cap figures also seem to be moving though, so I suspect retailers didn't restock that many. I also suspect that the case pack is fairly even, so people who just want bad guy...

The Stuka, once put together, can handle younger airplane fans. But I've never been able to get my wings off again.

Re: Foxhole: 21st Century "Gray" 88mm -$79.99

I dare say that a large part of what sustains the GI Joe 3 3/4" / 1:18 are sales to kids, and still today kids are treated to 20-minute commercials disguised as TV shows. FoV made there WWII and modern figures, but they also made their $2 price point "Fearless Forces" 1:18 figures in attempt to cash...
