Re: Corgi returns to Flying Mule

I thought it was because Corgis are slow sellers in the US. Corgi models are heavily British oriented in subject matter, which has lesser appeal in the US, resulting in slow sales on their highly priced models.

Re: Is the new FOV doing anything?

ok, so FOV has announced themselves in a big way. Here is a link from another forum indicating FOV's planned releases including TEN different 1/72 Chinooks, for this year. http://modelhangar3.com/thread/7633/release-schedule-update-fov?page=1&scrollTo=103618 All the years collecting 1/18 and the glo...

Re: Looking for 1:18 FW-190 parts

may I ask why you are looking for the vertical and horizontal tail? As far as I know they were the same on the D-13 as they were on the D-9. The difference was the new engine cowl and the stretched rear fuselage.

Re: Is the new FOV doing anything?

weren't they supposed to have released a whole bunch of armour by now? In fact, we should be hearing about all the aircraft they are going to re-release soon. All I've seen is a months old picture of a Japanese chinook on their FB page.

Is the new FOV doing anything?

aside from a handful of reissued ship models a few months ago, has the new incarnation of FOV done anything or planning on doing anything?

What colour to paint my Reggiane 2005?

i just finished building a 1/72 Reggiane 2005 and was about to paint it. I figured I would go with the established colour for the green colour Verde Oliva Scuro 2, which is something like this: http://stormomagazine.com/ModelArticles/Re2005/LucaBossi/NewPics/Dsc06956_750.jpg a quite dark vibrant gre...

Re: So exactly what's wrong with the Lindberg 1/72 I-53?

however, it's odd that they would make what must have been a huge investment in tooling, manufacturing and distribution of this Japanese submarine kit, without putting some effort into making it accurate and of good quality. How many kids did they think were going to shell out over $100 for a toy Ja...

Re: So exactly what's wrong with the Lindberg 1/72 I-53?

I just discovered some new info. The Lindberg sub is too big, for what it is. What it is, is a Kadai IIIa submarine. They were 328 feet long which scales out to 54 inches and change in 1/72....the Lindberg sub is 58 1/2 inches long. So they took the shape of the earlier Kadai type IIIa sub and scale...

So exactly what's wrong with the Lindberg 1/72 I-53?

I've been seriously tempted to get this model, but I've seen in much maligned on the internet. The bow is wrong, the conning tower is wrong and the kaitens are wrong. So I've been doing my own research. The kaitens aren't wrong, but they represent a type that was never entered into service due to po...

yes depth charges on the bow, proper 37mm at gun and a partially detailed interior, which I don't think was on the original kit?

Re: Luft X 1/72 German Haunebu I Display Model

A few quick shots of the Haunebu II kit. That's excellent job. It looks way better than the Luf-x version. The Luft X version is a built up model of the Wave Haunebu I kit. The Haunebu I was a much smaller craft than the Haunebu II, which is what the Squadron kit represents, and had wheeled u/c a l...

Re: Luft X 1/72 German Haunebu I Display Model

this has been released now. I just ordered one. From the Mule pics it looks to be one of Luft-X's best offerings, quality wise. Has retractable or at least optional u/c up/down positions. I'm sure it's the Wave kit built up. Going to be a fun addition to the collection, albeit a guilty pleasure :D

Re: FOV

thanks Tman for the info. I can see this as being a mistake by FOV. Large boxes are expensive to ship in most parts of the world. And shipping costs that are nearly the same price as the model itself will discourage many buyers, including me. These may sell out anyway but I can certainly see high sh...

Re: FOV

I've looked into getting some of the new FOV ship models but the shipping prices retailers are asking are too high. Usually $40 from the US to Canada......UK retailers are even more ridiculous at 75 pounds for shipping. They have the weight listed as over 2kg (4.4 pounds)......which I find very hard...
