What are your favorites in 1/48 (or 1/50, or 1/43)?

Greetings all, I recently fell down the 1/48 scale rabbit hw. And as I slowly acquire some of my favorite subjects in the scale, I figured I'd ask the best hivemind I know what are some if your favorite 1/48 (or aroundish) pieces? Note well- building models is currently unwise given my feline hoysem...

Does anyone remember how to retract the nose gear on a 21st century p-38?

I can't remember if it is a push in or pull out sort of mechanism...

Re: The Hiya Toys Aliens APC is Awesome!!

Yeah, that thing looks amazing. I was just gunshy after leaving the preorder in for far too long and the fragility of some of Hiya's offerings. I'd cancelled my preorder and spent the funds on something superfluous. Or maybe something nifty. I can't remember which. I do think it'd look awesome next ...

BBI Sidewinders F-18 (sold)

Edit- And sold! Thank you sir! Greetings gentlemen. As a few of you know, I am a Ph.D candidate in the field of leadership studies. As I'm raising funds to literally fund my dissertation research, I've decided it might be time to part with my last BBI Sidewinders F-18. I will get some pictures up wh...

A nifty kickstarter for something like an MRAP

It is sort of an amalgamation of modern armored vehicles, but the price point isn't bad.

Absolutely beautiful work.

I remember stories of when they were training foreign aircrews in those during the Vietnam War.

That's an incredible build.

Is the BBI apache actually longer than the f-18?

I think it should be, but was curious if it actually was.

Those gunpods in the picture you linked are new, and I think pizza is looking to possibly cast them for folks that want them for the pre-builts.

I need to get around to fixing the landing gear door on mine.

Nosing around for a BBI Sidewinders F-18

Greetings all,

Doing a little birthday shopping and thought I'd see if anyone happened to have a spare BBI Sidewinders F-18 squirreled away somewhere.

Would prefer one in the box. Drop me a pm, and thanks for your time.

Cheers!

Re: Rarity of certain 1:18 planes

Hazarding some guesses at 21st century: I know the Tender Terror is the incredibly rare P-51. The camo Ah-! cobra feels like it is more rare of their helicopter pieces. All of the spitfires seem equally rare, but the one with D-day stripes seems to be a crowd favorite. Whether that is due to the sch...

I've got the Stinger, haven't gotten the Amphista yet. Still debating it.

Random question, as it does seem up your alley- did you ever pick up any of the older Microman Votoms stuff they did in 1/18th?

Off the top of my head, and most of my knowledge is BBI based, and I may be wrong. BBI F-18: "Common" Releases: Golden Dragons, Sidewinders Less common: Red Devils, Jolly Roger, Blue Angels, I think there is one new zealand or raaf one. BBI F-16: Common Releases: Wolfpack, 9-11 art. Less Common: Var...

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter

All I'm saying is that by removing a distinctive portion of the program - something unique that could have appealed to a specific audience and probably would have been less expensive to produce than the fully-detailed figures; seems to be alienating potential supporters, just days before the progra...

Re: Marauder Task Force WWII Kickstarter

It's pretty much exactly what it says on the tin- the money collected during this Kickstarter is to fund the toolings for the upcoming line of figures. The release date of next year reflects that for those buying figures for which there are no toolings developed yet that it is a lengthy process, esp...
