Re: Where is everyone?

Occasional lurker, never posted very often to begin with. In about once a week usually to lust after Pickel's project du jour. For the most part I've moved on to collecting actual military items ie ordinance, flight helmets, uniforms. Still have my 1/18 collection, keeping an eye out for couple piec...

Re: Several year retrospective (opinions happily sought)

About a year ago I did a minor revamp of my display and I was left with 3 distinct impressions. The first I love my P-47s slightly less than I used to. The second was I really didn't appreciate my NKK Spitfire until I repositioned it. I've always loved the Spitfire itself but the model wasn't a piec...

Re: great f14 bombcat magazine on the rack this month

Just picked one of these up it's a really remarkable resource. I have quite a few Tomcat and general aviation books but nothing with this much info on the bombcat. Most I've ever spent on a magazine but well worth it.

FS: Corgi Unsung Heroes M48a3 and M35a1

I purchased these from an army surplus warehouse sale. This is not my scale of choice and I'm not familiar with this line. I do know for certain they are incomplete. The tank is missing the flags and has some loose pieces. I don't know if they are supposed to be loose to start with or if these came ...

Re: 1/18 bombers

The 1875mm EPO B-17 is approximately 1/17 scale. I think the only scheme available is Memphis Belle. I have one I bought second hand and have hung it with a pair of fighters and I don't notice any huge discrepancies.

Re: ALL USERS, ESPECIALLY NEW USERS: TRADE ALERT & RULES

As of late there have been a couple for sale postings which did not include a asking price. I'm a member of a couple other forums all of which require a for sale listing include an asking price. I don't see any significant problem with the current arrangement but I'd think having an asking price wou...

Re: St. Louis Area 1/18 Garage Sale anyone?

I'm not anywhere near St Louis but if you will consider dealing with paypal or money order I'd love to add a 262 night fighter to my collection. Also the silver F-104 and X-1 depending on price. Otherwise best of luck with your sale.

On ebay people already have just about everything marked up 300%. I'm not the biggest figure guy but the set is pretty good.

Re: New BBi

No the A-10 is a reissue of one they released about a decade or so ago(?). It is a subject of discussion in another thread and there are photos there. The nose itself is apprently close to 1/18 the rest of the plane is considerably smaller giving it a cartoonish quality.

Re: New BBi

Ended up buying a Hind I know they are toyish but I don't have a Hind anywhere close to that size, also bought one of the NBC troops. The cashier also offered me a gift receipt and said someone would be very excited. To which I replied don't need one and I am. She looked at me like I was from anothe...

Re: What is in the future of our Beloved 1/8th Scale

I was largely just a 1/18th scale collector but rather than moving larger I've been going smaller. I've moved on to actual model ships in 350 and 700 scale for my toy etc collecting. I also have taken up collecting some actual militaria. As much as I love 1/18 I'm tired of being disappointed by it. ...

Checked my local Hobby Lobbys since your posting they still want just over a $100 for them. One manager said that his store would never price them that cheap and said I must have been misled.

Re: New BBi

If it is a completely new product I'm buying it. The only thing I've added recently was one of the SS sets. The lack of information on the Harrier and the 190A have really gotten me disillusioned with 18. Over the past year or so I started collecting flight helmets, gas masks, and inert ordnance. At...

I suppose it depends on what you're selling. But if the price is right and there is something I've wanted to get my hands on I might be willing to take a trip to the coast. (assuming your location info is still correct)
