Re: The world now has a GAZ-AA Russian truck in 1/18 scal
I dont know how many of you get the Military Channel but there is a program on right now called "WWII in Color" "Soviet Stream Roller" in which there is lots of color footage of these trucks. Very good program, it shows them also with a large oval type tank in the rear as they were used as fuel tank...

Re: 1/18 HE 162 or 1/18 HO 229
This project looks like it has allot of interest and that is good, $300 for the completed thing is not likley though as the hours of work involved and resin needed Pickle might as well work part time at the golden arches. If only we had a factory in china.....

Re: The world now has a GAZ-AA Russian truck in 1/18 scal
Hey you did a great truck, and to me the eastern front was WWII with all the rest kind of a sideshow. I would promote the growth of any further projects in that direction, personally I have limited my collecting n 1/18 to aircraft but even if I were still pursuing a 1/18 armor collection I would say...

Re: 1/18 HE 162 or 1/18 HO 229
I was hoping you would Pickle, you know that! I love that you are already working it out in your mind. I only hang my 1/18 stuff as do allot of people, so maybe think of landing gear being detachable? an add-on if wanted? just an idea. Snake had a good point, most will want to buy it completed (asse...

Re: 1/18 HE 162 or 1/18 HO 229
Yes, us Americans are very lucky that we had smart programs in place like paperclip to exploit this stuff or it could have been lost or worse ended up with the Russians, it got us to the moon, but it also got them the AK-47 & the Mig 15, it was in those early hours that that the cold war was already...

Ive gattered a modest collection of 1/16 stuff, the moro KT and the Tamyia's Porch Turet version, The moros is wrong though, the bottom glasis plate has a big bulge in it to compensate for some internal RC part. Looks like the Horton is winning, with the Horton you also could have the option of extending the canopy and adding antlers to make the NJ.

Re: They are still out there!
The key on ebay is to do creative searches, it takes more time but you will find ones that have been listed without the scale info or without the maker. You will find them on there and they are usually cheap as it is someone who does not know what they have.

1/18 HE 162 or 1/18 HO 229
Before 2011 is over I will make one of these in 1/18 scale. They will not have landing gear so they will be for hanging display only. They are both fairly simple and small, the Horton being an easier but larger. Very limited cockpit with pilot glued in and sealed, nothing opening.
